Cat spotted in Rafter J, Black Hills South Dakota

Just returned from a week long trip to the Black Hills in South Dakota. I spotted a Wildcat on my way out of the campground one day, but never could catch anyone around. Would happen to be anyone from here, would it????

Well, It could have been me? I left Horsethief lake campground about noon on Sat. and drove thru Hill city than to Rapid City. I just reread your post, was it a Wildcat in Rafter J?

Yes it was parked in Rafter J. I left sat about noon also and headed the same route. We were there all week. Unusually cool weather we had for the week, but at least the bugs weren't bad.

bummer we did not up, I am looking for a spot to camp around Sioux Falls this Friday as we head back home. Any ideas?

Could have been us. We stayed from the 6th to the 14th. Great campground, one of the better ones we have been to.

Thanks for the welcome. This is a great resource, I have been enjoying reading and learning here since we purchased the new 5er a month or so ago.

The cat was located in the island section of the campground, we were in the upper campground near the bathrooms. We love the campground, it is a nice get away with the family. Saw deer most nights wandering throuh our site backed up to the national forrest.

CatinMt.... try this spot 30 miles west of sioux falls a few miles off the interstate to the north. Never stayed there, but it looks nice as I have driven by the place. Plenty of shade for a little lay over.
