Trailair Rota-Flex

Post by timge on Thu May 01, 2008 2:59 am

Does anyone have any experience with this type of hitch or talked to anyone that actually has one. I'm just wondering if they are a viable option as a hitch. I saw on RV.net that some of the manufacturers are putting them on as standard equipment, including the Cardinals, with the Air Pin as an upgrade. They are not advertised on Trailair's site and it appears they only fit the Lippert 1621.

I've seen the few comments there but I really trust your opinions.

Don't have any experience personally but those are also the ones I'm thinking about getting. Mostly because of cost. From what I've read so far they work great if you have a lighter unit that doesn't need the extra up and down protection. I think that if I had a bigger heavier unit I would go for the air bag to help take out the up and down jolt of bad roads.

It has been a while since I have posted. Summer time=busy. I Did put the rotaflex on my Cat and did not notice a big difference. However, I aslo put on Timbrens and I think that made my ride very stiff so it is hard to get apples to apples comparison. I was thinking of going with airbags, but sold the truck and got a Megacab DRW.

I have been wondering the same thing, only am really interested in how people feel the Rota Flex compares to the MorRyde and/or the Demco Glide Ride. Rota Flex appears to be a little cheaper but wonder if the morRyde isn't better? I notice Tweetys is not listing the Demco at this time. It appears the MorRyde has some side to side motion as well as front to back? Rota Flex is still pretty new on the market. I personally want to go with one of these systems this winter.

I would go first with the 5th airborne but it raised the front of my trailer maybe three inches and I am already nose high. Second choice would be the Demco. I am sure the rotaflex works, just not as much I hoped.

I've got one on mine. Unfortunately this is my first fiver in a long time and I have nothing to compare it to.
