Re: Ride-Rites for the truck?
Hey Steve,
You like the Timbrebs? Someone else recommended them to me. My Silverado 2500 4x4 doesn't sag much at all with my Cat and I'm not having any handling problems. But on rough roads, I'm not so sure I'm not "bottoming out" sometimes. Looks like the Timbren SES would give me a little more protection from that.

Air bags do NOT increase your towing capacity. They are used to level your rig/trailer and to cushion the ride. The salesman was just trying to sell a trailer and was WRONG. The airbags do not make your truck frame any stronger or increase the weight rating on your tires.

Your absolutly right. Air bags don't increase towing capacity. Just level control only which keeps the geomitry of the truck right. What I said was the 6.5 ft bed increase the towing capacity on the supercrew, standard is 5.5 ft bed. Also changes the wheel base from 130 to 150 inches. Air bags are great. Happy camping.

Re: Ride-Rites for the truck?
Dear cattledog wonderful to see some one else towing with a F150 I was begining to wonder if I was foolish . My Ford I got last year to pull our TT When the wife found the WC I was a little worried about the P/U handling it . My 2002 Ford F150 is a comm unit that I found at the local Ford dealer. The only 4X2 I could find in town. It is the 7700 Series with a 8600# rating, and the 5.4L engine and 3.73 rearend. After the first tow home from the R/V dealer and my first trip with a 5th wheel I felt great . The only thing I can say is it may take me a little more to get to speed ,but I do get there. Plus I still get 17 MPG after I park the rig . I'll save the 3/4 ton for the next WC.

Glad all is good with the F150. We have pulled ours so far this year 4800 miles. Real happy with how it does. No complaint's. We have F350 PSD also. Kinda overkill for the 27RLSE 5th wheel. I love the Ride Rite's for the nice soft ride and keeps the headlites out of the oncoming traffics eyes. The truck handles like there's no big deal hooked to it. So far we have got 9.3 average on gas mileage but we use alot of blended alcohol fuel up north. We use E85 here alot and seem to do just fine. Last trip we used straight gas and got about 11.5 to 12 with it. And 17 like you said when it is unhooked. My wife gets a little better than I do, her foot I think is smaller. Happy camping and enjoy. !!
