Apple Mac Store

Post by Admin on 2/7/2010, 9:55 pm

My wife drug me to a new shopping center yesterday. My wife and daughter went to barnes and nobles and I spotted a new Apple computer store next door ..... So I went over there.

I've been craving a mac for the last 8yrs but just didn't want to drop the bucks on one.

I went in to look at the 17" laptop,,, boy was it nice. and Fast. and had so many trick features it was making my head swim. you can swipe the mouse pad with a couple of fingers and make the thing do stuff that you'd never dreamed of. After I wiped the drool off my lips I spotted the 27" mac with everything built into the monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse with wireless wifi already built in to the unit.
1TB hard drive,,,,, thats Terrabite not Gigabite,,,, thats equal to a dumptruck load of harddrive space.
I was drowning in drowl by now. Then I reached in my pocket and realized they were still empty and had to come back to reality. I can feel one coming to my house real soon though...... evil

I bought an imac last year and love it. The best part was I was able to load Windows on it so I can run all my software that is not Mac compatible.

I wanna throw my PC laptop across the yard so bad I can't stand it. although it still works good.

I remember paying 2500 bucks for my first computer when you still had to use dos to get to windows.
bought the biggest badest thing they had, custom built. My phone today is more powerful than that behemoth was. My Ipod touch is faster than my laptop now.

Our first computer was a Trash 80 (TRS 80).... back in the '80s. Our next computer was a Win 3.1. Boy! Was that ever state-of-the art! Or so we thought. Then Win 95, Win 98, and now Vista. We also have a Windows XP that our daughter and her husband were going to throw out. Still have the 95 and 98. Gonna save what we want from the 95 - some recipes and photos and get rid of that one. Probably do the same with the 98 sometime, but I have so much stuff in it - recipes, photos, checkbook, that I keep putting it off. It hasn't been on-line since we moved to TX in 2007.

Ok,, I guess it is time for the PC guys to step up....I am a retired network administrator of a large school network. I retired in 2001 just when Mac was coming out with the OS10 operating system. Before OS10 Mac was very difficult to network. Apple would give schools computers back then, and that was a great strategy, because many teachers learned on the apple IIE and found it hard to work with a PC. Networking Apples at that time was a nightmare. Appletalk was slow and troublesome. Software compatability was also a nightmare. Now we fast forward to today, and Mac is a very good, and networkable system. I still prefer a PC, because they will do everything I need and do it cheaper.
It is like Coke and Pepsi,,, which is better... Of course I am a Coke person.
So far as OS are concerned, Linux is the most stable of them all, but not for the everyday user.

DNA computers have the potential to take computing to new levels, picking up where Moore's Law leaves off. There are several advantages to using DNA instead of silicon:

 • As long as there are cellular organisms, there will be a supply of DNA.
 • The large supply of DNA makes it a cheap resource.
 • Unlike traditional microprocessors, which are made using toxic materials, DNA biochips can be made cleanly.
 • DNA computers are many times smaller than today's computers.

DNA's key advantage is that it will make computers smaller than any computer that has come before, while at the same time increasing storage capacity. One pound (0.45 kilogram) of DNA has the capacity to store more information than all the electronic computers ever built. The computing power of a teardrop-sized DNA computer, using the DNA logic gates, will be more powerful than the world's most powerful supercomputer. More than 10 trillion DNA molecules can fit into an area no larger than 1 cubic centimeter (.06 cubic inch). With this small amount of DNA, a computer would be able to hold 10 terabytes (TB) of data and perform 10 trillion calculations at a time. By adding more DNA, more calculations could be performed
.

------ I can hardly wait.............. I'm bet'n the military already has it.

I guessed 7yrs ago that you'd be reading the news paper on a thin piece of plastic screen. I was almost right with amazon's book readers and apples Ipod touch and Ipad but I had no Idea then who would make it. I really didn't think the printed news paper would still be here in 2010. And it may not make it to the end of the year who know's.

All this reminds me of the research I did years ago on the 1947 Roswell New Mexico crash. If I remember correctly, the craft used dna like particles for its navigation system.
Since the military still has the craft,,, my guess is you are right about them having this technology.

It is quite interesting when you dig into the government and local reports. It would take to long to type all the conflicting information. Overwhelming evidence supports that the crash did happen. What is hard to fathom is that the propulsion device was part biological. Reverse engineering has produced some interesting "inventions". Being a commercial rated pilot with over 10,000 hours I have seen two unexplained flying objects that were not man made over the last 50 years.
Anyone with a 130 IQ or above knows that:

1. The earth is round
2. Climate change "global warming" is not man made.
3. Life exists on other planets in our universe.
4. There is a God, and he can rule over more than one planet.

Did i miss that part to,,,, I didn't know that either.

I'll agree with your points. If you've ever watched a time lapse film of a map when the ice advanced and receded. Its pretty cool.

I say we did, You need to go to one of the nasa centers and walk around an apollo rocket. You wouldn't strap yourself to one of those just for a joy ride around the earth.

Go to the nasa center in huntsville , Al and you can still see the test stand for the engines and the area it burned when the rockets were fired. If you've never been its well worth the effort to go to Cape Kennedy or huntsville. amazing stuff to look at.

I believe we did, for other countries had the technology to track our flight and landing. If it was staged, Russia and other countries would have been very vocal.

Of course we did. Explain to me why anyone would have staged such a thing; what would be the point? Is anyone going to claim that the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs (you young guys, look them up) were staged? Scott Carpenter and many other astronauts are still alive; go ask one of them. Do you think all the space shuttle flights are fake?

We could do it and we did; don't make me prove it again!

I have actually been to the Huntsville space center and it is really cool. I am a space/sci fi junky but I am still skeptical that it actually happened. Maybe so, but if we did why for the last 40yrs all we can do is fly around the earth? Why not go to the next level? I actually got to set in one of the lunar modules and I am not a big guy and it was a tight fit. I guess astronauts are not fat!!!

Its amazing at the amount of power the apollo rockets generate, nevermind the fact that it is massive in size. I heard they actually put a building over them in Huntsville. I haven't been back in a couple yrs so I don't know for sure.

Maybe one day we can head to Mars before I kick the bucket!

Because it is not the same; we do not have the technology, money or will to do it. The requirements to go beyond the moon are eponentially greater.

Your truck can pull a 15,000 pound trailer; why can't it go to the next level and pull 150,000 pounds; or 500,000 pounds?

The space station will be the cheaper launching pad for deep space missions. Thats what their trying to get a handle on, I believe their just waiting for the tech. to catch up to what they have in mind.
