New Loveseat
Installed a new reclining loveseat in place of the ol' jack knife sofa. You all know how comfortable those are. I lucked up and found one that comes apart fairly easily and fit perfect. Matched our colors well. There is a weight difference there but I have already fabricated a set of adjustable slide jacks for support that works quite well. Can't wait to go try it out
Haven't quite got hang of posting pics yet so I hope I got the link posted to my Personal album on here so you can see the pics.

That looks nice. Definitely looks more comfortable than the jackknife.

Re: New Loveseat
Well I learned to post pics finally. Hope this makes it easier for all to see. I'm going to get some pics of my slide supports on here soon. I don't know how much weight the slide is supposed to hold but I feel better with a little support under it.

Re: New Loveseat
That is exactly what I am looking at doing this winter during the off months. The jackknife has to go! I was hoping to find something in a leather and somewhat light weight. I thought I would wait until after the new year when alot of stores run furniture sales. Looks nice!!

Re: New Loveseat
Its a Catnapper brand loveseat. Bought at a local furniture store here. The owner says he stocks them because we have a lot of folks park around here on Weiss lake and they can get them in their Rv's.It comes apart very easily by removing the bottom bars. Goes in my 24" door with ease. Just turn it up side ways and rotate it in. And there made in the good 'ol USA. They make leather ones too. They are pricey but we got that one at a good price.

We did the same thing over the summer, but we installed two recliners and removed the jackknife sofa. The dogs not very happy with our choice, but we are.

That sofa sure looks nice and comfy.
Be careful, Lippert doesn't recommend supporting your slide out with stabilizers. I'll try to find the reference. I can't remember where I heard this.

Very true, I've read about the pitfalls of supporting a slide many times.
If the trailer settles or rocks for some reason and the slide is supported, it will do some damage.

Re: New Loveseat
Well I couldn't wait for morning and had to finish up my project before we went to bed. Thanks to the little helpers I had and of course the DW.....couldn't have done it without her.
Thanks to Bamawildcat too for the idea. It went really good. Had it done start to finish in less than an hour and we were please with the results. I will miss the storage under the jackknife, but I won't miss the comfort!
We started like Bama did and took the old unit out including the supports. This was really easy and I saved everything to go back in if needed. We then took off the bottom two rails holding the love seat together and took it through the door in a reclining position. This was a piece of cake. Reassembled it the camper and positioned in the old opening. We had about 2" on either side clearance. Probably could have added just a little wider unit, but we went to five different stored before we found one we liked and would match the decor. This particular unit wasn't too heavy and I can say with the old jackknife sofa and things stored under it, the weight is probably pretty close to the same. Here are a few pics of the project.

Carpe,
Good looking pair of helpers you have there. That love seat looks very comfy! Enjoy, but i bet you will have a hard time getting everyone off of it so you can use it!

Re: New Loveseat
Carpe Diem , If your like me you'll never get to use it . Mine has been taken over by my wee one and the DW. It does make for a nice place to crash on a rainy day on a trip. Looks great! I know you'll be very pleased.
O yea Jetskier, took everyones advice about supports under the slide. I figured there was something to it if several of you had heard that it wasn't a good idea.

The opening after removing the love seat was 68.5" x 45". The recliner frame measured 64" x 39". It is a wallaway, so it reclines nicely without touching the back wall.

Re: New Loveseat
Well we did it. Went to Rooms To Go outlet and bought one for $275.00. It had a few spots on the back, but that is against the wall. Found out that on most recliners the backs are removable with two clips. Took the backs off and took it in to the WC. Did not have to take bottom off and separate chairs. Didn't even have time to get a picture yet.
