MS - Hollywood Casino RV Park - Bay St. Louis, Mississippi

Hollywood Casino Campground – Bay St. Louis, MS

This campground is several miles from I-10, but would make a great “home base” to anyone visiting the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We stay there whenever we travel to Florida, many times both going there and coming home. We lived in Gulfport, MS years ago, and often drive through the old neighborhood sometime during our stay. Mostly we stay there because of the casino.

This is a Good Sam park. It has 100 level concrete pads, full-hookups (30 and 50 amps), cable TV, wireless Internet service, picnic tables, barbecue grills, laundry facilities, bathhouse, water features, 24-hour security and a pavilion. I believe campground guests have access to the hotel pool – but, don’t quote me on this. There is a free shuttle to/from the casino. The campground and facilities are clean and quiet.

If you get there early enough, you can have a pull-through site. The pull-throughs are really double length, so the first person there should pull all the way up, what’s left behind them then becomes a back-in.

This shows the pull-thru. Once we got in, the space behind us became a back-in. The spots all over the front of the 'Cat are lovebugs.... yuck.

The pads and road are a little muddy. This visit was shortly after Hurricane Ike, when the campground got flooded.
The vehicle coming down the road is the casino shuttle. It comes around about every 20 minutes and drops passengers off at the casino entrance.

This is the rest room/shower building. It is next to a temporary check-in trailer.... it's in the middle of the rv park.

That's the casino, right across the parking lot from the rv park.

Scruffy and Tater,

Is the campground a few miles from I20 or I10? That is a pretty sight, I hope y'all enjoy yourselves.

Thanks, Mark. Hollywood campground is near I-10. I'll correct that in the original post.

It looks and sounds like a pretty good RV park to stop at. Casino RV parks are the ones I need to stay away from. I've discovered that staying at those parks add considerably to my trip expenses. evil

We call that entertainment. It gets charged to "Entertainment Expenses." :) :)

Sometimes we get our campsite (or room) and meals comped. But it still costs quite a bit to get those "free" nights. That's Entertainment!

We stayed there several years ago when it was Casino Magic, pre-Katrina. Beautiful place then, and hope to return some day. It holds a special place in my memory as this is where I learned to never leave my awning out at night. I had my TT then, went to bed on a nice calm evening, but was up around around 1:00 am, outside in my "evening wear", ( BVD's), fighting the wind and rain to get my awning in to keep it from being ripped off!

Were you able to save your awning?

I did save my awning, but I used that as a learning experience---I NEVER go to bed with the awning out, and NEVER leave the campsite to go into town, sightseeing, etc. with the awnibg out----no matter what the weather is or forecasted.

We actually made a return trip there last June, one of the very few times I pull the 'Cat out in the summer months. We got to see Pete Fountain perform at the casino show room. (You young dudes probably don't know who that is, but I bet you old f_rts do!!!) It is a nice park, but will still take some time to get back to its' original beauty. We had campsite #3, the same one we had pre-Katrina. Actually planning a return trip, hopefully soon.
