Hunting and Fishing Bragging board

Post by Carpe Diem on 11/10/2008, 2:54 pm

I had a thought yesterday after reading on of Phillips post and thought I better follow through with my random thinkings. Thought it would be nice for people that like to hunt or fish to post pics of the game they harvest across the states. Always interesting to see pics of fish/game from different parts of the state. I will start off in what I hope is a thread of some cool pics.

I was lucky enough last night to fill my South Dakota archery tag. I labeled this one the "unicorn" buck on account of the 7" dagger growing from the center of his head.

For those that like to hunt or fish, let us see some of your past times.

I think this is a great idea. I have been hunting for about 15 years and have been to some pretty interesting places, from Africa to the Arctic. I am always looking for fellow hunters to share pics and stories with. I am taking my wildcat goose hunting this weekend and next in Pa. I will get pictures posted in the next day or so of my mounts.

Just got back from a Kansas Pheasant Hunt. Me on the left, my brother in the middle and my dad on the right. I'll post some deer pics as soon as I can make them fit the screen. They are in my album if you want to see them.

Got out yesterday to wear off a little xmas grazing. Waded through waist deep snow at times to shoot a limit of pheasants (9) with a couple of close friends. Beautiful day to be out and enjoy one of the first days of above freezing temps we have had in close to a month. Now it is time to break out the ice fishing gear. Laughing

Nice group, must be nice to just go out and get some pheasant whenever you need some. I have to make 8 last the whole year. We are talking about making a round next year and starting our hunt in South Dakota then head to Kansas for their opening weekend.

I have to admit it is nice to jump in the truck and be out chasing birds within 20 minutes or less. South Dakota has some of the best bird hunting in the country, too bad it has become so commercialized though. Late in the season we still find plenty of people willing to let us hunt though with a thank you and a hand shake. I recommend trying some late season hunting up here some time and forgoing the early season madness. Our season is still open until Jan. 3rd this year.

Well this was the final trip for the kitty this past weekend. We enjoyed a boys weekend chasing South Dakota pheasants and walleyes.
