How we would respond if no fuel was available?

Post by Maxtor on 11/2/2008, 6:14 am

The gas and diesel shortage in the Southeast recently brought to mind, how we as a country would deal with no fuel from the Arab countries. If they decided to stop all oil going to America, I wonder how we as a nation would handle it. Most of the oil producing countries do not like us. The Arab leaders have enough money now, for about 100 lifetimes, so they are in a position to turn off the oil if they wanted to. I would hope that we Americans would be civil with each other.

They did it back in the 70's. Lots of folks in gas lines were not civil to each other.

Study Industrial Hemp, soybeans, and a load of other stuff that would keep us running. Its ------who can stand up to the Oil man and live to tell about it ..... We don't need oil.
We've just been lead to believe in it. Theres a guy that drove a car from canada " they can grow industrial hemp but we can't "
across america to mexico and back up to canada using Hemp OIL.
Industrial Hemp is about the closest thing to Free as you can get.
No known pest and takes very little water. Plus you can eat it if you get hungry and its good for you. That old family bible was written on it, and it won the first 2 world wars......... guess who lobbied to make it illegal ?

You don't need the electric that comes in on your power pole either. Its just so easy to plug into isn't it. Whens the last time you won an argument with the power company or water department ?

Remember our great great grandparents lived without it just fine...... The power that got the first settlers here is still there but barely being used.
I watched 60minutes tonight and saw a lady drive a wheel chair with brain waves across a room and back but the Gov/Media distorts our brain waves so bad we can't make it past the next bag of Chips......

But when you get to close to coming up with a new resource they'll drop the price of oil so low it will make your new- " but old " idea look expensive. So back to the oil we go.........

As I recall, it was a push by the Dupont company and the scare over the use of marijuana that got the bill passed in the late 30s that outlawed this industrial crop.

Those thought to gain the most were Hearst who owned large timber holdings which feed the paper industry. DuPont who dominated the petrochemical market, which manufactured plastics, paints, and other products of fossil fuels and the Secretary of the Treasury and owner of Gulf oil Andrew Mellon who pushed legislation through congress giving tax breaks to oil companies. The Conspiracy was against hemp, it threaten certain vested financial and industrial interest especially those in the paper and petrochemical industries.

It was a little bit of all of them. And its the same guys beating it down today.

I am glad to say that the wife and I don't know much about drugs. We were born at a time and place that the worst thing you could do as a youngster was to drink beer and or smoke. We did not do either. I was in the Navy for four years and did not get a tattoo. People have choices, both then and now.
