Delamination of side wall

Delamination of side wall
It seems that I have some delamination on the side of my fiver just above where the power cord goes enters the side wall. Has anybody else had a delamination problem and if so were you able to get it repaired past the 1 year warranty.? We bought this new in January of 07. It just seems to me that the price you pay for a new camper these types of problems should not be happening this soon. Thanks in advance for any input on this problem.

Oldelmer1 are you near Joppa? We bought our cat from Day's RV. Any warranty experience with them? The last time I had warranty work done there it wasn't a great experience so I am hesitant to call them for help. Any input?

Re: Delamination of side wall
Meet us in Montana,
We are in North East, MD, 2nd to last exit off of I-95 before Delaware, North East/Rising Sun exit.
Yes, we bought ours from Day's RV also. We took ours back 1 time for service, and out of the 4 repairs, they only did 1. So our experience SUCKED!!!
Since then, anything I've had to fix, I've learned how too from THESE GREAT FOLKS here on this forum.
I would say, with a delamination problem, I would call Rod Batts first to get the ball rolling, and see if he can suggest someone closer to home.
Racer179 from this forum said all the service department at Day's RV were let go. But I did receive a letter from Day's saying its time to winterize and to bring it down to them and they will do it for $116.
Call Rod Batts first......

I am buying a 2007 cat that is starting to bubble, I can live with it now, but what are the chances of this spreading? I really like the wildcat, but I have seen a few with delamination (scary). I just don't want to buy myself a bunch of problems and heartache.

to the Forum. It can and will get worse. Have them fix it before you buy it or maybe look for another.

Re: Delamination of side wall
to the forum. Glad you came here to ask your question. We wouldn't buy it. Even if the current owner or dealer were to fix it, could you be sure it was fixed properly? The outside skin needs to be removed, all damage inside the walls needs to be fixed, the cause of the delamination has to be eliminated, and new skin needs to be put on.If you haven't read the delamination issues others in the forum have had, you should do a search and see what they are dealing with or had to deal with.

Re: Delamination of side wall
I have had these issues too. There is only one correct fix like mentioned above.....complete skin replacement......which is EXPENSIVE!!!! Mine started small too and it did spread with time. Heat and humidity seemed to accelerate the problem. Campers are a dime dozen. My suggestion is to RUN away! Good luck!

Forest River is coming to get mine the first of December to have the walls repaired. Delamination on all 3 sides - don't know what is under the front cap.
