Propane for grill

Post by harddock on 10/27/2008, 2:39 am

Do you have a tap into the trailers propane system or do you carry a seperate tank for using your bbq grill?

I would have liked to have a tap on the Cat's propane system, but it seemed to me that there wasn't enough space to install the "T" fitting in the curbside propane cupboard. I use a seperate tank.

You can go either way. I use a separate tank so I can keep the grill away from the trailer.

We have a 10lb. tank that we use for all our outdoor cooking. It's smaller size fits in the basement easily, plus not to heavy.

I was looking at putting a "T" into the Cat's system but was a little concerned when I was trying to find the right plumbing parts. (That's another project for next spring)
I used the "Extend-a-stay" T on the Cats curbside tank and then run 24' of propane hose to my BBQ. Keeps it far enough from the Cat and I can almost put it where I want to..... it works for now.

separate tank here. We like the portability of it.

I use this adapter for my passenger side propane tank. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/90-stay-flow-adapter/24025 and a 12 ft hose works great and I also keep a couple of small tanks on board just in case you run out of propane in the side tank and need to cook. sunny cheers

Separate tank so i don't have to be next to the Cat. I use one of those Coleman T's that I put my propane lantern on top of. Great for the desert.

I had the local propane store put a T together for me, about $35 and put it on the drivers side. I didn't think there was enough room on the curb side. I just use a long hose to put the BBQ where i want it.

I like the idea that timflood came up with though, might have to rework mine.

Here is the link to the photo of the tie-in that I installed. I mounted it up higher to avoid road debris.

I carry a separate tank. I have one of those propane trees that runs my burner, grill, lantern.
