hi all, great site. our baby is a 07 32qbbs, lots of room for the kids. we stay with in 300mile radius ,you know a tank of fuel. were out darn near every weekend, and loven it. i still stink at reverse, not quit as easy as our 30" tt was, but a heck more stabil on the hiway. i figure our crew cab has alittle something to do with that. oh well ttfn.

Re: newbee
Sounds like you are getting a good start with the new Cat :!: Changing from a shorter tt to a longer 5'r and throwing in a crew cab will give you a few new learning experiences. I have been there nad it takes a little time. A big empty parking lot with painted stripes will make a good practice lot. As soon as you get the feel of the turn with the 5'r you will like it. The 5'r starts the turn a little slower but also cuts pretty fast and there is more manuverability in the fact that you can turn over the bed of the truck. (You can also lose a back window if you have a short bed and no slider, or don't use the slider, so be careful. Don't ask how I know.)

Hello pollittax and
to the forum.
Your just down the road from us, we're in North East, MD.
Did you get you camper from Day's RV? We got ours from Roy. 1 of the members here said looks like they might be going under. Roy took us to Ripken's stadium to practice. Didn't help much though

Welcome to the Forum......
An easy tip for backing with the mirrors.
If your looking in the driver side mirror. When looking down the side of the camper toward the rear of the camper.
If you see the tail of the trailer getting bigger in the mirror turn toward the Mirror or tail of the trailer to straighten it out.
If you see the tail of the trialer disappearing turn away from the tail of the trialer to straighten it out.
Use that same method when looking in the passenger mirror.
In a big parking lot you should practice backing a big curve both ways.
Backing in from the drivers side:
if you look the site over before you back in and position the drivers side tires where you want them to be you should only have to glance at the passenger mirror once or twice.
The main practice you should do is Blind side backing. When you pull up to the site its on the passenger side and you have to use the passenger side mirror to back in. Thats the skill you need to practice most in a big parking lot. IF you have electric mirrors its easy to position the mirrors where they're looking further out. If you don't have electric mirrors your looking most of the time at the middle of the camper. Thats why getting out and having a good mental picture of whats back there and where you need to be is very important. You just have to kinda back up in your mind so to speak. A lot of times you want have a spotter. Or like me I know she's back there somewhere but I usually can't see her.

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you. A set of two-way radios is valuable when getting into those tight spots. I listen, she talks; sound normal?
