What size converter do I need?
It looks like my converted is dead. The battery keeps going dead even though I am plugged in all the time. What size / brand do I need to look for? I am at the office today and I probably will not have time this evening to pull mine apart and see what size / brand it is. Thank you
Also, can I just change the board?

This is probably a dumb qustion, but...... Are you sure it isn't the battery? Will it hold a charge if you connect it to a battery charger? Or will it charge up if you connect the trailer to your truck? We replaced our battery last week - it seems like a short time for the original battery (our 'Cat is a 2007), but it died anyway.

Re: What size converter do I need?
Never a dumb question and I should have added it in there. I replaced the battery with a deep cycle at the end of May. So yes, I am fairly certain it is not the battery. Everything has been fine, i usually check the cat once a week or so and when I went into it on Saturday, the only thing on was the microwave. I leave it plugged in all the time with the air on. Seeing as though the thermostat is 12v, it was hot in the cat. I pulled fuses and tripped breakers, but no help. I hooked up my own charger and it charged up fine, next day it was down to 90%, so I recharged it.

Re: What size converter do I need?
I installed this one a few years back: http://www.tweetys.com/intelli-power-PD9160A.aspx
I also purchased the charge wizard.
This converter is 60amp, the old one you have is probably 55amp (at least ours was).
They have a newer model as well which has the charge wizard build in: http://www.tweetys.com/intelli-power-PD9260C.aspx

Did it mount in the existing location?

What converter do you have?
I had to modify my WFCO box a little bit (used a Dremel tool to cut the rear and the side and made a new mounting bracket). You can see the photos by going through my mods. photos on the link below in my signature.
This is the previous converter (which sits in the closet right now but still works): http://www.bestconverter.com/8955-Main-Board-Assembly_p_116-117.html
This is how the whole breaker panel looks like:
http://www.bestconverter.com/WFCO-8955-ANP-55-Amp-_p_65-53.html
I found out after replacing the converter that the WFCO is a 3-stage charger as well, but the Intelli-Power is a little quieter.
Here is the manual to this converter: http://www.bestconverter.com/assets/images/wfco/8900/8900manual.pdf
This place is a little cheaper than my previous link, too: http://www.bestconverter.com/Inteli-Power-PD9160A_p_39-14.html but you should still purchase the charge wizard: http://www.bestconverter.com/Charge-Wizard-Flooded-AGM_p_39-15.html
Too bad you are not closer, I'll let you try my WFCO (I'll let it go cheap, was only used from June 2004 until beginning of March 2005).
