Crock Pot French Onion Soup
With fall weather coming here's an easy French Onion soup recipe that you can cook in the crock pot all day while you're in the great outdoors having fun. Mmmmm, it's guaranteed to warm your innards. Cook it on high if you want it for lunch, or cook it on low if you want it for dinner. I love crock pots.
CROCKPOT FRENCH ONION SOUP
1 qt. beef bouillon
3 c. thinly sliced yellow onions
3 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. dry white wine (I prefer a Chardonnay)
Croutons
1 c. Parmesan cheese
Pour bouillon into a crock pot. Brown the onions in a large skillet in the butter until lightly browned then add the salt, sugar, Worcestershire, flour and wine. Stir well. Add to the bouillon in crock pot. Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours. (High: 3 hours.) Ladle the soup into a bowl, add the croutons and top with grated Parmesan cheese.
