banana boats

Post by ffruff22 on 8/25/2008, 2:58 pm

Someone that we camped with this weekend brought the stuff so that the kids could make these treats.

what you need:

bananas
chocolate
marshmallows
foil

step 1 - cut off a section of the bannas skin (about a 1/2"-3/4" wide across the length of the banana) and save.

step 2 - place chocolate on the edible part of the banana and the cover it with pieces of the marshmallow, then place the skin from above back on.

step 3 - wrap in foil and place on the coals until the chocolate and mashmallow is melted.

step 4 - ENJOY

I have tried a variation of the same. We use reese's PB cups instead of chocolate and crush graham crackers over the mixture after we take it off the fire.

They sound great, but darn I have gained 25 pounds camping this summer with all the stuff my family has come up with.... stirthepot

Good thing are winters are long enough to loose some of those before next season..... Laughing
