Barber Pole Corn

Barber Pole Corn
I found a recipe in a cookbook that belongs to my daughter. I haven't tried it and was wondering if any of you have. It's called Barber Pole Corn, and I'd like to know if it's any good.
Here's the recipe:
6 ears of corn shucked, and tassles removed
6 slices bacon
Peanut butter (as needed)
Spread peanut butter on corn. Starting at one end, wrap a piece of bacon around each ear, in a spiral (I guess this makes it resemble a barber pole). Wrap each in a square of heavy duty aluminum foil. Bake in a 300 deg oven for 1 hour...... or place over medium to hot coals. Serves 6.
If any one has tried this - or tries this, I'd love to read an opinion on it.

Re: Barber Pole Corn
I like bacon on peanut butter sandwiches, and I'd probably like bacon and corn, but peanut butter and corn? I don't know.
Maybe I'll get brave and try this - I'll post an opinion.

Re: Barber Pole Corn
I agree...2 of the 3 sound good, corn w/ bacon cooked together sounds great. But the peanut butter kinda throws a monkey wrench in that recipe.
Bacon can make almost anything taste better!

Re: Barber Pole Corn
Its like a science experiment, I am thinking that the grease from the bacon disolves most of the peanut butter and will leave a little of the taste there giving it a smoked, nutty finish.........
