Time Savers

Post by Scruffy and Tater on 8/4/2008, 3:49 am

In the post about Cheesy Potatoes, Carpe Diem mentioned buying real bacon bits to save time. What are some of the things you (or the cook) buy or prepare ahead of time in order to save time in the kitchen when you're camping?

we have friends that pre-cut all of thier veggies (onions, green peppers, ect.) and freeze them. I personally enjoy sitting and preparing meals nothing like the smell of fresh cut onions and garlic!

We will pre-cut seasoning depending on what we are going to cook. If I'm going to cook jambalaya or gumbo, I'll pre-cut. Most other stuff we will prepare while camping.
