2012 RV Shows
First topic message reminder :
I'm just headed over to the Dayton-Cincinnati RV Show this morning and I thought I'd ask if there's interest in knowing the shows where you can see new Wildcats this year -- would it be helpful? I saw at least one forum member there yesterday -- I hope you'll come out to say hi if we're in your area!

Again, sorry you didn't get the warm Wildcat welcome you deserved! I'll be at both the Grand Rapids and Novi shows (although I'm not sure what days yet) with new Wildcats, so if you can make it to either show I'd be happy to chat. My boss and I were just talking fondly about those "BACKPACK" Wildcats last week... is it time for a comeback?

Re: 2012 RV Shows
There are always people asking me about mine when we go camping and I always see alot of them on the road. I do like mine it's nice to have that extra storage that is easy to get too, plus the layout of the rig was roomy and nice. The one thing with that floorplan that would be better would be to have a bedroom slide other than that it has lots of storage to haul whatever you want I've always got to tell the wife just because it's there doesn't mean you have to fill it up. There's a good possibility that I'll make the GR show.

Re: 2012 RV Shows
At every show I go to, I talk to at least one member here and/or at the Forest River Forums. Been a great turnout at shows so far this year. Sometimes the people I meet aren't frequent posters at all -- but they're following along and know what's going on all the same!

Commenting on the"Backpack" models; they are really great. The 29bhbp probably sets a record for storage. Two bicycles fits inside, along with the whole kitchen sink the DW takes. This day in time, we all want more slides, but the bad thing is that slides take away all the basement storage compartments. So bringing back some storage in the rear would be something good.

Scruffy and Tater wrote:We'd be interested in RV shows. Dallas has one that isn't very good. Last time we went, they had two Wildcats - one was the one we wanted to see, the 31TS, but we were disappointed they didn't have more. We aren't interested in driving down to Houston, even though I imagine they have a pretty nice RV show.
We are in Bay Saint Louis, MS right now - on the way to WDW. We drove up to Picayune, MS to buy a King cake from Paul's Pastry Shop, and stopped by the Wildcat dealer there, but they didn't have the 272rlx, and that's the one we wanted to see.
I think there is a 272rlx in Mobile, AL, but we aren't stopping in that area. Guess we'll just have to wait til we get back to the D/FW area - I believe there is one at the dealer in Fort Worth (if they still have it when we get back home).

Ft. Worth RV show is generally in Feb. United RV is local FR dealer and they always have many on display.

Re: 2012 RV Shows
Doesn't look like there is any Wildcat representation at Nashville's RV show this weekend. Well, frankly it isn't that great an RV show anyway. But, next year our new humongous convention center opens so I am cautiously hopefully that this show will improve. We are thinking 2013 is the year for a new one RV.

Yeah, same thing here at the Houston show. Only a couple of Cats, and a few more Forest River. Good thing I found my Cat when I did I reckon.

What's going on? The entire Atlantic City R/V Show and I could only find ONE (1) WildCat. Rediculous. Do they sell that well that they don't need to show'em? I was really hoping to check out the 344QB or 34QB.

Foolsrushin , We went to the nashville show several times and were not that impressed . We did like the one in Murfreesboro when we went there . We have attended shows at St. Louis and Belville and Wildcat was not represented very well . Maybe next year . Jim

Re: 2012 RV Shows
My DW and I have attended many RV Shows all over the United States thru the years but the one we went to in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Friday has to be the worst by far. The large Camping World Dealer (Wildcat) is less than 12 miles from the Show and was not represented along with other local dealers. Have no idea why the poor showing by local dealers.

Re: 2012 RV Shows
Unfortunately, with the contraction of the RV industry in recent years, many shows are smaller or have less available space than in the past. Pair that with the fact that many RVs have become larger in length and you can see how there's less space to show multiple floor plans in some shows. While I don't think you can represent any RV line in just one floor plan, that's what many dealers today do.
Additionally, the "mid-profile" fifth wheel market is extremely popular and competitive today -- more than ever before. There's been many new brands introduced in the last year or two, a few of them finding early success. While some dealers "try out" these new brands, many times they forget that tried and true brands like Wildcat have such a strong following/audience...
I appreciate the fact that so many of you want to see the new product at shows! The best thing you can do is to tell your local Wildcat dealer that you want to see Forest River's #1 selling fifth wheel represented in the show! Wildcat has been a top 10 seller for over a decade -- not many brands in the industry can share the claim. Meanwhile, we'll keep building 'em...

Did you ever go see Wes Harrison do his sound effects act? He used to be one of the headliners at the show doing his duck hunt routine.
