My solution to securing the TV.
This fix solves the issue of moving the TV back and forth from the bed to the cabinet, which also allows more "stuff" to be put on the bed while traveling.
Material list:
Two pillows from Wallmart $2.50 each
Two 1/4 x 2inch bolts with nuts and washers (no cost they were in my bolt bin)
Two 1 inch x 3 inch pieces of wood. (no cost they were in the wood shop)
One small can of wood stain. $4.79 plus tax.
On the pedestal foot of my TV were two slotted holes for bolts. I drilled two 1/4 inch holes into the flooring where the TV sat. Measured twice, drilled once. Fit perfectly. I hooked up all the wires before bolting the TV to the cabinet floor. I put one pillow behind the TV, and one pillow in front. I cut the ends of the top piece of wood at a 30 degree angle, so it would span the front of the TV and look nice. The bottom board was used to hold the DVD player in, and did not need to be angle cut.
This was probably overkill, but it was a cheap fix, and now will be able to handle any rough road without damaging the TV.
