Genesis GT-3.0 in place of Concertone ZX600
Forest River replaced my Concertone with this Genesis GT-3.0 while they were reparing my trailer. They did an electrical test and found issues with the Concertone and replaced it. What a sweet surprise! This thing has HDMI output and bluetooth as well. I was able to pair my phone to it in a few seconds and play music. I need to fish an HDMI cable through the wall to the TV so I can use the HDMI output. I really like it so far. I need to take the TV out and hook it up and do a full test.

Very nice, Earl - and great that Forest River did this.

Who makes that? I can't find a Genesis Technologies website.

Sadly, Concertone. I guess they call it a Genesis GT-3.0 so people don't know its a Concertone. I believe they make this "brand" for Forest River. Concertone has the same item but its called ZX800.
Surprising I've been reading good things on the net about the GT-3.0.
The Concertone ZX800 retails for $699.95

And here I was all excited until I read the rest of the story.
A Concertone by any other name is still a Concertone.

Re: Genesis GT-3.0 in place of Concertone ZX600
I was able to hook the tv up and try out the surround sound and dvd. The picture is better as well as the sound compared to my old unit. I threw in a disc from Band of Brothers to test the surround sound. I really like this unit! Also the remote can be trained to control the TV and other items.
My old unit did well other than the voices wouldn't match the video sometimes.
If the unit holds up, it will be a sweet system! I'm sure Concertone is always updating and improving their products (if they want to stay in business) so hopefully it will hold up.

So what exactly is the difference between the most recent version of Concertone and the new Genesis, besides looks and name? What improvements have been made?

Bluetooth and HDMI. Also SD card reader and a USB port reader. There is also an MP3 player port on the front. Another thing I noticed is more auxiliary input connections. As far as internal updates I have no clue if and what those are.
The remoted was updated with auxiliary controls for cable, satellite and tv. Also another update is the remote is the learning type and not the code type.

As far as I know, none. Just the brand and model are the only difference. They look the same, have the same features and remote.

Re: Genesis GT-3.0 in place of Concertone ZX600
That was awsome that FR changed that out for you. The Concertone is possibly the single most missed item for me. My new Montana has a nice sound system in it BUT it is 110v! I miss being able to just play music without having an AC source for power. Even after I get my inverter wired in it will work but the inverter or shore power will need to be active for audio in the coach. Logically, yes the TV needs AC but for CD or in case of the newer Concertone unit, MP3 it is a GREAT advantage to power it from the battery!
