Photos of The "Tater" 272RLX Floorplan

Post by Mopar_Earl on 12/25/2011, 5:37 pm

Here are some pics of the 272RLX, aka the Tater that I took while touring the Wildcat factory.

There weren't any 272RLX units on the production line but Chris was nice enough to allow me to see and take pictures of one that was sold. I didn't want to mess up the carpeting so I didn't take pics of the bathroom and the wardrobe slide. If you look at page 17 in the current brochure at the two top right photos you'll see what the bedroom and wardrobe slide look like. If you look at page 16, you can see what the entertainment center looks like.

The slides were in and we weren't able to put the slides out, so I did the best I could with the pics. but you can access every part of the trailer with the slides in.

Note the basement pics. They have cleaned up the basement area and put a wall between the basement and the front cargo bay. Looks cool.

Great pictures Earl... thanks for sharing. It's nice to see Wildcat making so many changes and offering new floor plans. Can't wait to hear feedback about some of the new floor plans, especially the 344QB and 353LS.

Thanks so much, Earl. The pictures are great. I was particularly interested in storage space in the downstairs area, and have some concerns.

We use every bit of storage space that we now have. The cabinet over the kitchen sink is definitely smaller, but I could probably compensate for that somehow. Our 29rlbs has cabinets over the sofa and over the dining room table. The 272rlx just has them over the sofa. I'm torn between the big dining window and the lack of cabinets. Scruffy is tall and I know he would like the big window, but I wonder where I would put the dishes and glassware. The rolling island provides storage space, but I just don't know about putting breakables in a cabinet that might bounce a lot. I think the cabinets over the rear window should come down to the top of the window - it looks like about 4 inches of wasted space to me. I'm already trying to figure out how to extend that space.

Thanks so much for the pix, they answered a lot of questions. Obviously, we're going to have to find a Wildcat dealer who has this model in stock. There are so many great features, I'd like to see if there is a way to be sure it would be practical and comfortable for our needs.

Your welcome Tater! I thought the storage would be an issue for you. The couch has a huge drawer that will hold a lot of things. Also the entertainment center has a good bit of storage. Seeing in person is better than pictures. It's always fun to go RV shopping, even if your not buying.

If you don't mind the dinette booth, that would give you more storage as well.

Ahhh..... I had forgotten that the newer models have a storage area in the sofa. In the cabinet above our sofa we have kitchen linens and table linens - also some non-breakable mugs. These could go in the storage drawer and dinnerware (currently in cabinet above dining table) could go in the cabinets above the sofa.

I really prefer a table rather than a booth - although at times, I've thought if we had a booth and removed the table when we had company that would provide additional comfortable, easy-to-get-into seating for a couple people. But, we seldom have more than 2 guests at a time, and we have adequate comfortable seating in that case.

Also I noticed you can put storage bins on top of the cabinets above the sink if you can reach them ok and don't mind them being in sight.
