Not a mod but something I learned
I noticed a lot of leaves on my bedroom vent screen, I have not put a external cover on it because we plan on installing 2nd AC there, anyway I didn't feel like climbing up on the roof to clean it out so I took the wife's hair dryer, turned on on cool and high blower and blew the leaves back out of the vent................worked great. This was something I have not see on any of the forums I read so thought I would share.

I thought I was the only crazy fool cleaning the vents like this except I use an electric leaf blower. It is quite helpful with the vents that have max-air covers because you can't gain access to the vents from the roof unless you remove the covers. I see that now they are made with a hinge for cleaning but not mine. So, I fire up the leaf blower and the needles and debris flies around inside the vent eventually blowing out under the vent cover onto the roof. The first time my wife saw me do this she thought I had lost my mind.

While it's true that the MaxAir vent covers restrict access to the screens from the outside, you can also access them and clean them from the inside.
Unscrew the white plastice housing and drop it down. Then remove the knob that controls the roof hatch. Once that's done the screen itself can be removed and vacummed off.
Done this a number of times over the years and it works well.

I thought I was the only one who took a small electric leaf blower with me. I use it to clean off the patio mat, and blow debris off the slide roofs.
I do enjoy the "whats the matter with that guy" looks while I use it.

We see quite a few people at Disney's Fort Wilderness using electric leaf blowers. Part of Fort Wilderness has dense pine trees, and the pine straw will soon cover the campsite. Some people sweep it off, some people blow it off, and some people just leave. Scruffy sweeps it off, and keeps saying he should bring his leaf blower along.... or get one just for the trailer.

I recently installed a wall mount garage style vac that has a blow port on it too. I will keep this is mind when cleaning time goes. The vac is a Bissell garage vac that came with all kinds of attachments and 32 feet of hose for $99 from Ollie's. It's great to say the least.
