I don't remember where I got this link, but it's good information on batteries. Some of you more knowldedgble people here may dispute or support the information, and please feel free to comment. I don't know enough about it all to agree or disagree, but it seems informative to me.

Very nicely written article. Lots of good information. The article is a little old, and does not address the new stage 4 battery tenders that we have now in 2011, but has some very good information.
