What are the thoughts about tire monitors. Do they work? What is the best brand? Do they affect tire balance?

Re: Tire monitor
The Tire Tracker looks like a well thought out and easy to use system. I may look into that in the spring. Thanks for providing the link.

Re: Tire monitor
I just watched the videos for the Tire Traker, and it sounds impressive enough. But, never having compared tire monitors before, I can't say exactly how impressive it truly is.

Re: Tire monitor
Update about the tire monitors. The PO said they made one attempt to deliver to TST, and left a slip saying TST should call them. TST said they didn't see any slip. Scruffy went to our local PO last Monday (Dec 12) , and was told to call the PO in Georgia (I believe this is where the dead letter office is located). He came home and called the Georgia PO, and while he was on the phone somebody did a trace, found them, and said they would go out immediately and should arrive by Wednesday - they arrived on Tuesday. TST checked them and sent them back to us, and we got them yesterday. They replaced the sensor that was bad. Since Scruffy said the monitor wasn't working properly, we hope they checked it and fixed it or replaced it. No paperwork to show anything they did. Scruffy is going to put them on the truck and see if they all work. If they didn't do anything to the monitor, the sensors should register and all is well, if the sensors don't register, then Scruffy will program the monitor - if that works, THEN all is well. We hope.

Sounds like this company doesn't keep regular business hours to miss the Postman. Hope it all turns out OK.

Re: Tire monitor
I blame it on the postal service. They only made one attempt, but we were told by our PO that with certified mail (we paid extra for this) they are supposed to make 3 attempts. Maybe the one person who works in the receiving office had to go potty and just wasn't there when the package was being delivered.

Re: Tire monitor
Final update on the TST tire monitors.
The postal service delivered the package to TST on Tuesday of last week. We got it back on Thursday. They replaced the defective sensor. It had two numbers on it, and Scruffy tried to set it up with the receiving unit, but it didn't work. So he called TST to be sure he was using the right number - he was. So he tried again. It worked. He figures he made a mistake reading the number the first time he tried.
Anyway, once TST received the package, they were quick to fix it and get it back to us. We're happy. TST came through, just as advertised.
