Stuck TV
Has any one had a problem with their Television (TV) stuck in the up position. I can hear the motor trying to start or the braker in the motor clicking, my thoughts are maybe the rod has tightened up some how. We are suppose to have rain here tomorrow so it will give me something todo tomorrow, If anybody has any ideas whats wrong with it before I tear into it, it could save me some time. Thanks

Re: Stuck TV
Turn off all power to trailer. Unplug TV from outlet. Wait 30 seconds. Turn the power to the trailer back on and plug the TV back in, then turn it on...in that order. If it was a surge, that should reset things.

Re: Stuck TV
Thanks TC Ill try that in the morning, but its the motor that lifts the TV or lets it back down, but I will try that first

Re: Stuck TV
Rusty...some electric motors exposed to a surge can suddenly stop working. Taking the power away all together often "resets" things. Also, have you tried taking the weight of the TV off to see if it works under those conditions? I hope its not a mechanical issue.

Re: Stuck TV
On my TV lift they used a double thread shaft lift run by a motor that is Identical to the old style Ford window lift motor. The only thing I saw that I did not like was that they used a nylon nut which when you run the TV up would top out against a Bolt and washer at the top of the shaft. Then the controller would shut the Motor off when it sensed the over load. when it goes back down it bottoms out just above the motor adapter and again senses the over load and shuts down I guess if the bolt came loose the nut would move past the end of the shaft and possibly jam causing the overload and shutting down the Motor.

Rusty wrote:Its fixed. I removed the TV and the white plastic screw that the rod runs thru was stuck, I used some plyers to get it to move a little then it started working again. I did lub it with some WD40 and ajusted the up side a little bit, now all seems fine. Thanks for all your suggestions. A fine fourm to get help.

Glad it wasn't anything major.
