Nice system. Has an ipod interface and HDMI output. It doesn't have surround sound though. Maybe in the future they'll add 5.1 channel or better surround sound.

I'm glad to see the end of Concertone!! It's amazing it takes that long to get rid of a product that failed the world. But with technonlogy today, no surround sound?? That's a let down. I guess like before, we will just have to buy additional equipment to bring their product up to par. Thanks for the update.

Surround sound is addictive. Hope they can find a way to ad it ASAP.
As for Concertone...bye-bye and good ridance!!...won't miss ya a bit!! As soon as I come up with an ideal alternative, I'll use mine for target practice.

My 2011 313RE must have been the last one to have that crappy Concertone....what a piece of junk... I'd change it out, but for as much as I use it, to heck with it....

I'll have to ask our Jensen rep about the 5.1 surround sound. I don't think that was offered and this is the highest end piece they currently make for RVs...

According to this page: http://www.jensenrvdirect.com/jensen-am-fm-cd-dvd-usb-wb-ipod-ready-wallmount-stereo-with-hdmi-video-output.html
It looks like Jensen charges $373.99 for the 975 unit and $19.99 for the retrofit cabling. See this link:
http://www.jensenrvdirect.com/jensen-470.html
You may want to check in with your dealer's parts department to see if they can get better pricing than Jensen Direct!

For some folks it may be enough, but I primarily use my system for DVD's and I don't see any mention of that unit playing movies.

Just saw on Wildcat's facebook page that Jensen is putting theater speakers in Wildcats now. Don't know if that translates to surround sound or not though.

I saw that too TC. Surround would be 5 speakers and a sub. WC facebook page said 4 speakers. 4 is better than one or two though! Also takes programing and drivers to have surround sound. So you need more than just the speakers.

Re: Concertone no longer used by Wildcat
Hmmm...ours, Concertone, has worked well from the day we bought the Wildcat. Our only scare was when I couldn't find the remote, the only way to turn on at least one of it's features which is a pretty stupid design decision to me. We run the TV and DVD player through it. It has a CD player we never use, we push MP3's out of the computer into a FM stereo transmitter and listen to them that way. Sometimes with the Concertone, but more often with a boombox while sitting outside enjoying a good book.
I'm thinking we got one of those magical "manufactured on Tuesday through Thursday" units, and that by that I mean the WC as well as the Concertone.

Re: Concertone no longer used by Wildcat
The only problem I have with my Concertone is when it gets hot. When it gets hot the voices won't match the lips on the tv. If it bothers me, I stop it and restart it and its ok. But this normally comes after 8 to 10 hours of dvd playing.
I plan to add a fan to pull the heat out of the tight cutout its in.
Note, I do keep a spare 1080p upconvert HDMI output dvd player in the cabinet just in case.

Re: Concertone no longer used by Wildcat
The only problem with our Concertone dvd player is the sound. It is either real real REAL loud or totally silent. Tried lots of stuff to correct it, best thing was putting a combination dvd/vcr on the shelf. With that we can control the volume.
We don't watch many movies, though. I bring a bunch along, but they just sit on the shelf.... we have too many other things to do.

We watch atleast a couple each night before bed. If its cold and/or raining, you'll be glad you have those movies! Once watched the entire band of brothers while camping on a cold rainy oct weekend.

I am one of the unfortunate that have replaced theirs multiple times...4.
The reason I replaced it 4 times, is because I was unwilling to replace it 5 times.
When I find the appropriate replacement, the one that's in there now will be used for target practice.
