A/C fan runs with furnace

So when I set thermostat for heat A/C fan runs (loud and drafty!) work around seems to be turning off breaker to A/C (or disconnect shore power).
Is this correct or is thermostat wired or programmed incorrectly? Usual shoddy FR/Wildcat workmanship? Anyone have insight as to thermostat wiring programming - is this intentional any reason to have a/c fan running with heat?

What year and model wildcat? Sounds like it should be a simple fix though.

You have a miswired or defective thermostat. No, the AC fan should not run when your furnace runs. I don't know what you have, but many of us have replaced the FR basic thermostat with a digital model.

If this is on a new Wildcat, please consult your manual. I do not have it in front of me, but I know there's a setting which allows for the fan to run at the same time as the furnace.
