The Tankless water topic problem part II
I believe the tankless thread that started the problems was started by me, I finally figured out the problem and am almost ashamed to admit how dumb I am to not have figured it out myself. I called a RV mechanic friend of mine who had me fixed in about 30 seconds. As far as any problems I might have started here (I apologize) thanks to the moderator for your hard work and a great Wildcat forum. Now don't any of you dare ask me what I did to fix the problem. I will just say I had a crainial rectal inversion.
Seriously what happened is I lost all hot water, I checked all the common problems and even read the manuals ect... Anyways on my switch panel (inside the RV) there is a switch that I've seen since the day I bought my new wildcat the switch says "auto" in the up position and "Low" in the down position. Nowhere in any of the books or papers is this switch mentioned.
I finally contacted a friend who is a guru of wildcats and he said he gets this call all the time. This switch is for the water heater and he told me to put it on Auto and use only the hot water knob on my faucets. Well now I love the tankless system since I've learned how to use it. I just wish it would have been mentioned in my manuals I could have avoided making myself look like a dummy. So theres my fix a simple switch in the wrong position.
Once again I apologize for any problems to anyone that the thread might have caused.
Regards
Steve (ncognet0)

Just glad you got it all figured out Steve.
Hopefully that simple fix can help a few others that have the tankless system.
I'd like to try the tankless system myself. Maybe I'll get a new model cat soon. Thanks Steve

Basically you just have to get used to not using the "cold knob" and keep the switch on auto. How simple is that for some scalding hot water.

ncognet0,
So it sounds like you are saying that this switch is not labeled as to what its used for????
Wildcat Chris,
Would it be possible to have some kind of label or something made up on these new units to tell everyone that this switch is for the tankless water heater?

Exactly, at least I couldn't understand it. I am going to make a label this week for my switch panel.

Re: The Tankless water topic problem part II
My manual covered the switch and its uses, plus when dealing with the manufacturer on my tankless problems we went through various settings in attempting to alleviate my problems. We never could get the system to operate without the hot and cold blast, my personal feelings are the system is not suited to ALL environments and my travels would involve various settings of incoming pressure and/or temp, any way the manufacturer was very cooperative and willingly had it changed out, my only complaint is they would only change it out for a gas only water heater where as if I had bought the Cat without a tankless system it would have been gas/electric. It evidently works for some folks but don't believe it should be considered as a 100% effective system for everyone or at all locations. I had used a tankless hot water system for years in Europe and never had a problem with it and was looking forward to the system in my WC. to bad it didn't work out for us.
