Mansfield, TX - Texan RV Park

Post by Scruffy and Tater on 10/25/2011, 4:38 pm

We didn't stay here, but ---

4.5 years ago, when we moved to TX, we had to live in our Cat for a few weeks. We looked at Texan RV park, and though it looked okay (just okay), we decided to stay somewhere else.

This is now. Scruffy filled our black tank full enough to see the water in the pipe from the toilet. The intention was to let it sit a couple days, then drive to Loyd Park for a night or two. The idea was to let it slosh around and dump when we arrived at the park. Well, one thing led to another in the short time we were between CA and FL, and we didn't get our little camping trip. But, we had this black tank full of stuff that needed to be dumped. So -- Scruffy called Texan RV Park and asked if we could dump there. It was fine with them - the charge would be $5.00. We felt that was fair.

We drove out to Texan, and what a change 4.5 years can make. The place looks great! They've spruced up the park, enlarged it, landscaped it, and made it a great place to stay. This would be a one or two night place while someone visited the Dallas and Fort Worth area. They also allow extended stays. The people in the office were super friendly.

Nope - I was mistaken about the name, sort of. The one we went to is in Mansfield, TX, and is actually called Texan RV Ranch. I didn't think it would make a difference if I said park instead of ranch. Interesting, and very confusing.

That Texan RV Park does look nice. We've never ben to 1st Monday, although we've talked about it now and then.

Ah, this one. This is a good one to keep in mind when visiting my sister. She lives just across the lake there in Duncanville. Good finds! BTW...here is the website for the Ranch...

You gotta get there. It is a blast. It's not as good as it used to be...kinda got commercialized a bit, but it still has its good areas where the good stuff is.
