Wildcat Factory Tour
Just gave another factory tour today (nice to meet you, Earl!) and wanted to be sure forum members knew they're able to come for a visit. It really is the best way to see how Wildcat wins against the competition.
If you're interested, call the factory to make arrangements (574-389-3232) or send me a private message and I'll help set it up!

John, we'd be happy to have you. Incidentally, I grew up in Middlebury -- you're probably headed to the Essenhaus for some good eating, right? Make sure you hit the bakery (especially the Long Johns -- wow!).

Re: Wildcat Factory Tour
You're absolutely right. Essenhaus it is. The DW and I take road trips during the winter months when the Wildcat is in hibernation. Have to do something when we can't camp.

Was a great tour! My second one at that. I'll be back for another tour when I pick up my unit. I'll get with you in advance, Chris.

I wish Tom! My unit is at Forest River for sidewall repairs which isn't far from the factory.

Re: Wildcat Factory Tour
While Earl was in town to have his 'cat taken care of, I was able to give him a tour and show him a lot of the upgrades and new features we just showed to dealers at our Expo last month. He met our plant manager out on the floor and also Wildcat's general manager. I had the new 293REX pulled around for a quick walk-through -- I wanted to hear his thoughts.
I also got a chance to check out some of the upgrades to his own 'cat. He's got the very first 4-point LevelUp Wildcat in existence. I'm hoping it's not the last -- the system worked great on his coach. We tried it on fairly unlevel ground, but probably typical in some campsites. We got it totally level (although 2 wheels were off the ground).
Earl, when you come back, the Louisville units might be ready for a run-through! Let me know when you'll be here and we'll tour the new ones...

Re: Wildcat Factory Tour
Sure do wish the West Coast factory provided this service. I was there having repairs done to my 'Cat last year and asked for a tour and was told no. I snuck around to the side and clicked a few pics through the doors though :)
I must say, the 2012s sure look nice. There is one just a few spots down from where I am staying. Love the new storage doors on the outside. This one has the old front cap still but I've seen pics, looks sharp, lights on front are great to. When will Wildcat be upgraing to LED lights for taillights and markers, etc?? Seen a few trailer manufacturers with that, looks sharp!

Thanks for the kind words. We did a lot of work towards improvements that make a difference to people who've camped before. For instance, those slam latch doors are thick, use metal on metal slams and catches, and are side hinged -- so no more banging your head.
The taillights and marker lights are all LED now! Even the front docking lights are LED (and they're dual mode, white for hitching and blue for marker/decorative). They really read well from a distance.

Re: Wildcat Factory Tour
Oooh, Like it even better now!! I guess the one I've seen here didn't get that upgrade. Sometimes East and West coast models don't follow the same changes at the same time. For example, my 32QBBS did not come with an outside TV viewing window, much to my suprise. I really wanted it :( The upside to that was, I cut a whole into the wall to see what was behind the TV, nothing. I created more storage space from the bedroom!! Nice! Also had no skylight... took it in to the factory when I was in the area, and they added one for me for free. I've always had great customer service dealing with the factory directly. I just wish you wouldn't make so many cool changes. It wasn't long after I bought my 32QBBS that the 323QB came out with the front bunk area having more storage with a slideout.... now all these nice upgrades, how am I going to convince the wife to let me get a new(er) one??? Thanks for making my life complicated!!

Sorry to "complicate" things for you, but one part of my job (that I love) is to make sure it's as un-complicated as possible that you'll always want to check out the new Wildcats! I'm glad you like the changes in any case!

The tour generally lasts a hour or so. It all depends on how many questions you have! Either our engineer, our GM, or I usually lead the tour (I just did one yesterday, in fact). Looking forward to meeting you -- please call Holly at 574-389-3232 to make arrangements.

Jimmy and Rachel just finished their tour. We had a 32RL and a 32RL-OK that they were able to spend some time in -- hopefully one of those models fits their needs!
Thanks for coming for a visit!

Re: Wildcat Factory Tour
My wife and I went on a factory tour before Christmas and we were shown around by Shawn, he did a great job. We were interested in a 32RL and Shawn had one brought around for us to look at, Chris joined us and answered all our questions, they were honest in all the things we asked about and you can not ask for more than that. We had come a long way and we were more than pleased, I urge everyone to take the factory tour, it was great. I guess I heard wrong but I thought you could get the LED lights upgrade on the Sterling, I was told today it only came on the Wildcat, anyway I got a price on a 32RL today. Anyway thanks for the great tour Chris and Shawn

I appreciate you taking the time to come for a visit! I want to be sure everyone here knows there's an open invitation to visit any time during the week. Our team really hustles and puts a great deal of effort into each Wildcat they build -- I think it's the very best way to see the RV you're interested in. Just send me a private message and I'll help you get things arranged!
As for the LED lights in the Sterling Edition, I'll make some calls tomorrow and be sure your dealer understands that we CAN indeed do it! It's not currently on the price sheet due to the fact that it was a late addition (I've been pretty open here about how long we've been working towards this awesome upgrade) to the Touring Edition package which is available on Wildcat and Wildcat eXtraLite fifth wheels only. The details are still being working out, but you should be able to ask for an LED add-on to your Wildcat Sterling Edition for a nominal cost.

I hate to see any cats killed. Come north for a visit -- we'll roll out the red carpet (although it may have some sawdust and boot prints on it)!
