Some changes I have made to our Cat

Some changes I have made to our Cat
Here are some changes I have made to our WC, the first two are racks I put in the bath room, we purchased them from Lowes, the one in the corner is secured by pipe clamps screwed to the wall.

This next one is the paper towel holder I installed, the black part is pipe insulation that I cut off and put on the holder it is the same diameter as the cardboard roll and holds the towels in place when traveling and creates enough drag to pull the paper towels off one by one, I did the same thing with the toilet paper holder.

My wife wanted more storage space in the bedroom so I built this piece, it started life as a bookcase that was about four feet wide and about 5 foot tall, I took it apart and used the material to make the new piece, stained it and screwed it through the back to the wall.

This is the last one, as you can see I have rerouted the water hose and also the coax for the satellite or cable TV through the bottom of the compartment instead of having to keep the door open all the time.

All I did was cut a hole with a hole saw and used two pvc fittings 1 1/2" screwed together with the bottom of the compartment between them.

Hope everyone has a happy and safe weekend.
Bill

Nice mods. You did some good work!
Your last pic shows a factory goof-up.
It should have come from the factory with a sealable outlet/inlet for your hoses and cable. Looks as if they simply forgot to install it on yours.

I thought it was kind of ridiculous to have to keep the door open all the time for the hose and TV coax. Oh well it only cost a couple bucks anyway and gave me something to do that day.

Great mods, and very well done. Where is your little lamp plugged in? I love the idea of the pipe insulation. I might use that in the house for t-paper. It is so annoying for me to have the t-paper go clunk clunk because the cardboard tube gets smashed. The pipe insulation should stop that.

Tater, in the picture the lamp is unplugged but the cabinet to the right of the one I made is where the bedroom TV goes, so there are plugs up on top of that. I centered the lamp for the picture but usually we have the lamp and a small fan on the top shelf .

Re: Some changes I have made to our Cat
Hi Jim....say, mine came with a 3" dia hole with flapper cover in my water/tv compartment. Strange how the same model can be different in just strange ways... I also use a 90 deg elbow on my city water inlet, so doesnt put a big kink on the hose or fittings. Where you have the paper towel holder, I have a weather station diplay along with 2 Dog Bones, saying "a spoiled Brittnay lives here" and "a spoiled Doxie lives here",
Found those in a doggie shop in Manitou Springs, CO this past summer. My wife puts the shower "rack" inside the shower instead of outside; even as big as I am, there is room, but of course I "just scrape by", ha..
I had to repair and rebuild the clothes closet bar inside the sliding mirror compartment, as it came crashing down in Oregon. Some Alum stock fixed it...
Also, mine didnt come with any ident tags for the dump levers....so had to figger that out; "now which one is the pooper lever?"
Is that the new water heater, not the dreaded, shoot on sight as some would call it? How much hassle was it to have the FR and the dealer to do it??

Re: Some changes I have made to our Cat
John it was no problem at all getting the dealer to switch out the hot water heater the only thing is Girard furnishes the replacement and they only send gas. I was really P.O. with the dealer, I had told the service manager from the get go I wanted gas/elec and would pay the difference and was told no it will be gas/elec. The day I dropped it off I asked the tech doing the work "it is gas/elec right?" and he said "yes" then that evening when we came to pick it up found out it was gas only, (keep in mind we have sold the house and all our belonging are in the FW and we had to have a place to sleep that night) I told him he had my cell phone he should have called me. I don't think he knew it was gas until he had the tankless out and didn't want to go to the trouble putting it back in. Anyway the gas works great at some point down road I might take it out and install gas/elec or get a small 10 gallon elect only and put it in the basement with separate elect hookup for when we are in campground.

Well Bill, we dont live in it, like you and yours, so if it comes to being "Stinky" cause the darn thing wont work, so it will be....not gonna fool around with it, as my guys here take forever to do anything. They probably didnt want to run that 110vac line as then it would require inspection, whereas, gas to gas probably doesnt... oh well... been having a good time on 10M QRP of late..
