peeling decals

Post by thebigpunn on 6/17/2008, 7:18 am

First topic message reminder :

my decals are peeling/ curling on the edges like many others.
i contact FR today, i am waiting for a response. i feel that since we do basically advertise free for them that they may consider replacing or fixing them for owners. i am not interested in spending my time razor blading or apoxying them as i feel its is more their problem than mine, cause if they dont i may consider peeling them all off the rest of the way myself!

so any bets on if they'll fix em or not?

That is a bunch of crap I think I would talk to Rod again and see if you could convince him in to getting you a set of old style or new style for your rig they can only say no again.

I think my WC is a decent TT for the money and we enjoy it but in 5-8 years we will retire and I will not buy another WC. We plan on taking long trips and with problems like leaking slideouts and peeling graphics (among other defects), I know it just won't stand up to the riggors of extended use in tough climates. It's a shame.

So. what's the answer if FR is not replacing. What product is available to "re-adhere" the decals.

I just thought of something else, she said the damage is weather related? Fine but where do they expect us to keep thses things ~ in our living rooms???
They should be able to stand up to the "weather" for more than just a few years!!

You can contact Kyle Hilliard . He gave me some prices for replacement decals. He said some they no longer carried but had a contact who could make the ones they didnt carry anymore. Just contact him with your model and vin number and he can let you know the prices and if they have them.

Yep, if I had to buy some I'd head to the sign shop for a custom design body wrap.

My experience in this matter is well documented earlier in this thread. Rod was pleasant to deal with but Beverly was in my opinion not interested in making me happy at all. There should be more consistency in customer service relations.

Actually the majority of the time they want to work thru the dealer. Since my dealer is gone, causality of recession, I go to another RV place that sells a different brand. Plus they never sold me the trailer in the first place. So it is not there favorite thing to do. So if I want decals I take pictures and give the pictures to the parts guy, who actually worked at the dealer that closed, and he will get them for me.

Kyle Hilliard (khilliard@forestriverinc.com) sent me 2006, 2008 and 2011 decal spec sheets and quoted me about $230 for "Everything on the side of the coach for a 2011 is your cost of $230.84
For just the cat itself it is $16.92. "
I will be happy to post them (pdf docs.) or forward to anyone who would like them. :)

Re: peeling decals

I have an 04 it looks great except for the cat logos and the word wildecat. I have used a razor to cut them back and paint thinner to clean the old glue off the side but they just keep peeling away. The odd thing is all the side stickers with metallic in them all look as new.
