Last trip of the year

Post by RichGeorge on 10/15/2011, 3:35 pm

This weekend is the last trip of the year for us. We're at Goose Island campground, a county park just south of La Crosse WI, right on the Mississippi River.

The Concertone bug finally hit us too. At least we escaped that one for a while though. I get a red "power on" light and nothing else. After reading thru everyone else's Concertone posts, I think I'll just leave it be thru winter, and deal with it next spring.

Sounds great!
Is there still an island campground in LaCenter in the Mississippi?
Stayed there about 20 years ago.

We're leaving next week for our last trip of the year. Our first trip of next year will begin around the 3rd week of January.

Going to Florida for Scruffy's birthday. My brother and sis-in-law live near Disney World. We'll spend a few wild and crazy days with them, then go down to Fort Wilderness for at least a week. I haven't made the reservations yet, but that usually isn't a problem that time of year.

Just got back from our favorite campground up north. We made reservations for next weekend there to get one more trip in. They let me leave the camper on the site for the week. It was nice to just pack the truck and drive home.

That was great that you could leave the Cat at the campground all week, and you have no excuse, you HAVE to go back. Have a wonderful time!

We'll try to squeeze one more in. We only had our Cat out twice this season....been very busy with Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts.....
It has been used as a "guest house" a lot of times for family visiting from Germany & Michigan.

Bill, you going to QUARTZFEST in Quartzite, AZ the last weekend in Jan??? We will be there again. Had a good time last time.. Nothing like 500 RV's with "bird killing antennas" sticking up out of them, all in one location...Oh the QRM lol!

John I might try to make that, we plan on leaving here shortly after New Years as long as my mothers health remains steady. My son is in Surprise AZ and wife wants to head that way, had to remind her it is 2500 mile haul out of here to AZ. Got in on the Texas QSO party from Colorado my 20 watts and a ham stick did pretty good.
