Wildcat Suspension

Post by Scruffy and Tater on 10/11/2011, 3:52 am

The November Trailer Life just came to our mailbox. Scruffy pointed out a letter on page 80 - RV Clinic about a 2007 FR Wildcat. Interesting reading.

I saw that. It seems that I am fixing more poorly designed/bad quality stuff than I do camping. I'll have to remember to crawl under and inspect mine in the spring.

I don't get Trailer Life. I assume that since some of you do that it is worth the price. Are there any other publications anyone considers worthwhile reading?

Trailer Life used to be a good and useful magazine, but within ten years, the magazine has gotten paper thin. Most of the articles have ventured towards destinations rather than trailers. My parents get Motorhome magazine, and it has ruduced the pages also. I wish there was another magazine that shared our interests.

I cancelled my subscription when they started reviewing high-end class A motor homes. Even wrote to complain that the magazine was "Trailer Life." Later, there was an op-ed from the publisher saying that "Trailer Life" was really an RV magazine and not specific to trailers. I sent a note explaining that I would not be renewing, that was years ago. :-D

If you'll recall, I posted a picture and similar story about "shackle" failure a couple of years ago. Since put on EZ-Flex and MorRyde pin box to "improve the trailer ride and tire wear". Since we've had major frame problem that Lippert nor extended warranty seem to want to cover. More on that later, still pending litigation. Lawyer says, don't discuss with anyone yet.

Yes, indeed! I do recall you posting info about the shackles. Probably a few other someones, too. Just a "heads up" to new members or people with short memories - like mine. sunny

Well you got me, I'm interested. Do you have a link or something? I don't get the magazine. Can you elaborate a little? scratch

This is the website: http://www.trailerlife.com/

It's true that the magazine had gotten rather thin, but I think it has gotten thicker in the last year.

I get Trailer Life along with another called RV Lifestyle. It's a Canadian publication but the reviews of RVs' and tow vehicles would apply to both Canada and the U.S. A sample of the content can be viewed here.
