GPS, Garmin 1450LMT or Mag. Roadmate 1700?
We have an option to get either one of these units (Garmin Nuvi 1450LMT or the Magellan Roadmate 1700). Does anybody have any experience with them? It looks like the Magellan has a height option which would be very handy. Thanks for any help.

Hi Brad,
Does the 1700 have the lifetime map & traffic updates?
We have a built in GPS in our truck, but till take our old Garmin NUVI 6800 with is cause I like to plan where we are going the night before, so I use the portable in the camper.
I think either one will do you good.
Here is a link for the POI factory, you can join for free, and they have listings for almost everything, Walmarts, Home Depots & Lowes, etc, its updated by the members.

We used a 3G iPad and Google Maps on out last road trip. It's got a GPS chip in it and the map is always up-to-date. There are also apps that you can buy for the iPad that are specific for navigation and don't need 3G for when you are out of a service area.
