Mesquite, TX suggestions
Anybody have any suggestions on where to camp around Mesquite, TX? We were planning on staying at Plantation Place, but the are booked up. We are heading over this weekend for a ball tournament. Thanks for any advise.

We have stayed at East Fork campground near Wylie, about 28mi from Mesquite but a nice Corps camp.

Thanks, but we were trying to get a little closer if possible. We will be needing to go back to the camper throughout the day.
How are the size of the sites at East Fork?

Tater has commented on a local park near her home. I have no idea how far that would be from Mesquite, but I'm sure she will chime in soon.

I've mentioned Loyd Park, but it is south of Dallas, and not convenient to Mesquite. There are some campgrounds on I-20 east of Balch Springs, but I think those would be too far. With Lake Ray Hubbard just down the road from Mesquite, there should be something. We drive through there pretty often, but have never noticed any campgrounds off of I-30, which I imagine is where you would want to be.
We're in CA right now visiting relatives, and don't have time to do any research - we would if we could. The Dallas area really isn't very camper friendly.

Did you ask Plantation Place if they know of another campground? Sometimes they will help you find another place.

We were there in March and as I remember the sites were plenty big enough.

Talala,
The game is actually going to be closer to Wylie than I originally thought, so I think we will go with the East Fork option. Thanks for the info!! We will only be ~10 miles from the tournament.

Glad to see you've found a campground that's close to the tournament.
