Betabel March and then Sept
The Betabel area was awash in water in March or was it February. These are the then and now pictures. The lower level we were in had about 10 feet to spare before the water would have entered the park. There use to be a nature trail that ran most of the length of the park. Due to the economy, the storm damage, and rules and regulations it is gone. They have blocked the only entrance to it and now the table and benches by the river are being over grown and falling apart. The entrance that was washed out use to be a path down to somebodies house. The house is long gone and only one pole remained that carried the electricity. It is a shame to see this gone but I guess mother nature needed to reclaim her land.

When the table is under water so is the park.

Now in Sept it is all over grown and soon it will be flooded again. In the center and to the right a little you can see the table in the back ground that was in the picture above. Behind the thistle stock.

This is the blocked entrance. If you look a little left of center you will see a brown leaf. Behind it are green leaves that kind of form a circle. In that circle is another table. The washed out entrance is completely over grown now.

I can understand CAs reluctance to keep up their parks. After all, they have important legislation to pass... like the law that all hotels/motels MUST have fitted sheets.
Politics, ain't it grand?!?

Re: Betabel March and then Sept
Actually not a park just a private nature trail but land owner ship and county regs helped mess it up.
