Re: Texas Drought Photos
In my area it's dead grass, trees, soot, and ash. We did get a little sprinkle here this morning. Not enough to really help in the long run, but enough to keep me from watering quite so much today.

Re: Texas Drought Photos
Here is some pictures of my personal drought. This is about 35 miles north of Houston.
Here, the neighbor dug out a bunch of old growth and muck and weeds to give us some uncluttered water. That's what all the brown is. The green to the right is what it looked like back in July. The water line is supposed to go up to those trees on the right.

Another view of the above. The normal waterline is supposed to come up to where you see the plywood.

A view looking back towards my dock. The normal waterline is right below those two pine trees at the head of the dock. In July, the waterline was at about the halfway point of the dock, but only a few inches deep where we cleaned out the weeds and muck.

And this is what we got today. The first measurable rain in a looooong time. It filled the pool nicely, but was not near enough to make any difference to the lake. The new brown lake bottom now has some big puddles, but that's about it.

Well it looks like a good time to do some work on your dock if it needs it.

Re: Texas Drought Photos
We noticed a lot of ponds that have been cleaned up while the water is low. A good time to do it, but little comfort when the water is needed. When we got a couple miles from home, we noticed a pond near the highway. Before we left almost 3 weeks ago, the pond had a good supply of water. Now the water is just on one end, and cattle were standing on the dry pond bottom.
