SLIDE Max weight ???
30 LSBS : I would like to remove one bench from the dinette set along with the rocking chair that came with my trailer and replace with a nice recliner. My concern is how much weight can I safely have on my living room slide while the slides are out. I would assume it not be a problem, since the dinette was designed for 4 people to seat and eat at once. 4 people at 150lbs would equal 600lbs of weight. So a nice recliner should be ok, right?
Any help, advice would be very much appreciated.

That's something I have really never thought about. I can't imagine why it wouldn't work. Should be fine.

Re: SLIDE Max weight ???
I think you would soon find out if it was too heavy as the slide would most proberly fall out of the aperture. and you would all have your dinner on your laps
.
But I do hope not I have had six people sit in my slide with no problems and they where not light people I would gess at a total of 8oo lbs +

Re: SLIDE Max weight ???
My large slide houses the refrigerator and the Hide a bed so it has alot of weight on it but they also put the tubes under that part of it. On the other slide it has the dinette and the most people I'ved had there was only four so I guess around 400lbs Max on it.

Re: SLIDE Max weight ???
A few people in the forum have put in double recliners without any problems. The recliner with all its framework is heavy, but maybe not to much heavier than the bench and rocking chair combined.... especially if you had stuff stored under the bench. Look at recliners on-line and see if the info provided by the manufacturer includes weight. That might help with your decision. Good luck, and we want before and after photos!

Re: SLIDE Max weight ???
The DW and I have often thought about getting rid of both couches and adding nice rocker recliners with side tables and lamps on each wall. So far, it hasn't gotten past the thinking stage.
I concur with Tater ...
pleeeez!! Maybe I'll get inspired to think about it again!

Re: SLIDE Max weight ???
Hello Everyone, thanks for the replies as always. I have removed one bench from the dinette table and removed the small rocking chair that came with it ( these items were located in the slide). I have added a nice large leather office chair to that slide and I am probably going to add a recliner here as well. I also removed the couch that came with the RV that was located along the very back wall of my RV. I will replace with a full size double recliner couch once I get to find one that will fit. How do I post pictures here? again Thank you very much for the help. You guys make life a lot easier.

Well On my Big Slide Dining table and couch I have had 240, 280, 220, 210, 180, 140, 150 for a total of 1420 lbs Guessing on the girls. I should be close though, 4 guys on the dining table and 3 girls on the couch, it held. I guess I didn't consider the weight at the time.
