Inverter Wiring Help
I have purchased a 1000 watt inverter with 1500 watt surge. I have 2-2700 deep cycle batteries hooked up together, one on each side of the WC. I am looking to see if anyone knows of a wiring diagram to show the best and easiest way to hook everything up. Situating the inverter with it's remote shut off is no problem, I have lots of room in the basement. Any help will be much appreciated.

1. You can add a transfer switch. All ac power is switched from either the inverter or shore power source.
2. I ran a 10 amp heavy duty extension cord from the front compartment where the inverter was mounted to my breaker/converter box. Always mount the inverter as close to the battery as possible for a short DC run. In the breaker box I removed the gfci connection at the breaker and ran it into a separate junction box. There I connected the 10 amp extension wire. This arrangement put all outlets on the driver's side of the trailer on the inverter only circuit. Obviously to have power to those the inverter must be turned on. When plugged into shore power the driver's side/inverted circuit is still isolated from shore power but when turned on the outlets are again hot. The inverted outlets run from inverter/battery and the batteries are being charged by the trailer's shore power connecton/converter. The catch to wiring this way was that the refrigerator 110 outlet was on the gfci circuit. I didn't want the fridge to run off of the inverter so I mounted another plug in the refrigerator to plug into. I used the breaker that I removed the gfci circuit from for the refrigerator. This way the fridge again ran from shore power circuit. Driver's side outlets including the TV compartment runs off the inverter. This setup is cheaper and worked nicely.

Re: Inverter Wiring Help
I simply installed my inverter parallel to the batteries and ran a dedicated cord & outlet into the cat. So, I only have inverter power at that one outlet, did not tie it into the cat's OEM AC system. But that is all I need, about the only thing I do with the inverter is run my TV and charge a computer.
If you want the inverter to provide power to your cat's OEM AC system, you will need a transfer switch as stated above.
