Fender

Post by robertsonthego on 9/4/2011, 10:49 am

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement fender to fix my 05 29 BHBP? I had a blowout and it took out the fender, some brackets, insulation and bent the spring hanger. I can handle everything but can't find a fender. Thanks. Coach.

You can order it directly from Forest River, or you can have your RV dealership order it for you.

Or...you could give these folks a call and see if they have something to fit:

Like TC said, call Kyle Hilliard at Forest River Parts.

Thanks for the replies, nearest dealer is 4 hours away (nearest walmart is 2+ hrs away!). I sent Kyle an email so we'll see if he responds. I see he is out of Indiana, does he handle the West side folks as well? Thanks again. Coach

Had blowouts on both sides which in turn destroyed my fenders. Did tons of looking on the internet and Kyle at FR parts was by far the cheapest. They were not the exact ones but replacements and he informed me that but they were a direct fit and look better than the original. Matter of fact, got some parts coming from him now that were cheaper than anywhere else. Also learned anytime you contact him have or send your model, year
and Vin number and that really speeds things up.

Thanks for the good news, I'll have to go get the VIN so I have it handy! Coach.

You can also buy parts @ Forest River if you're in the Elkhart area.

It depends what type of fender you have now. I had a blowout on my 2005 and the fender skirts I have were not being made any longer. I had to buy two so they would match. My insurance company agreed to pay for both even though I only needed one side.

If you still have that 2005 fender, robertsonthego might be interested in buying it. sunny

If it were our fender, we'd still have it sitting around someplace. Maybe retireclose still has it.

Sorry, I don't have it. I didn't have a need for it when they replaced it with a new one.

Kyle does a great job for us -- he's a great help if you're unable to use your local Wildcat dealer. Most of our dealerships have strong relationships with our parts and service departments, so please don't forget to use them as a resource as well.

i can tell you from experience its cheaper to go ahead and order two of them. Their shipping is pretty high and the fenders are pretty cheap. Its well worth having an extra laying around.
Its easier to just call kyle direct and a lot faster.

I did email Kyle, all he did was forward my email to Bev (Oregon FR parts rep), she replied and said I had to go through my dealer for parts. The nearest dealer is in Canada 4+ hours away!! I guess I'll figure something else out. Thanks for all your help. Coach

Hmmm, wonder why she would not help you out. I ordered directly from Kyle Hilliard at Forest River Parts before.

We talked to the dealership parts guy, said he hates to deal with her, she's not very customer service orientated! (is that a real word?) Coach

I'm going to have to come up with something to put on, thinking of using those plastic shower panels, it won't save me much money but it'll definately be faster and I have to do something, snow'll be here pretty soon!!
