Pinbox Inspections

Post by robertsonthego on 9/4/2011, 9:40 am

Well after reading the posts about pin box failures, I pulled the panel under the 5th wheel portion and inspected the pin box. I guess I'm lucky because everything looked good. However I did find that I had water damage to the panel I pulled off and it had seperated (it's a fairly hard material that is bonded to what appears to be carboard). I am unable to get the panel reinstalled so I went down to the lumber store to find some vinyl covered luan or plastic sheeting. The bad thing is that this panel is almost 5' wide, of course I could only find 4' wide sheets at the store. I know that there is a contact at FR but am unable to find his name and number so if anyone can give me his info I would appreciate it. Thanks. Coach

Coach: The person that has helped most WC owners is Rod Batts rbatts@forestriverinc.com. The person that helped me the most with parts when I owned a WC was Kyle Hilliard phone 574-206-7615 khilliard@forestriver.com. If you do a search on either of their names on this forum it should give you all the information you need. Good Luck. Jim
