Speed, MPG, etc.
We took a nice drive to Susanville, 255.5 miles,"round trip", used 14.126 gallons of diesel. So we made 18.08 mpg. Some of the way, passing cars, we might have been close to the speed limit of 65 mph. The speedometer said 90, but you know how speedometers lie.
Now none of us goes over the speed limit,,, but I wonder what our maximum speed is for our trucks. On our trip east, our gps said 85 mph pulling our 5th wheel... I have no clue as to when that happened. Must have been with another driver.
Anyway here are a few pictures of Hat Creek.

Re: Speed, MPG, etc.
When towing I do the speed limit. When not towing I do the speed limit + 10% or speed limit + 5mph, which ever is greater.

Before tuning, 94mph was the highest speed the computer would allow. It was based on the speed rating of the Firestones . After tuning, no limit set. I've achieved the speed rating of my current tires before (on the track of course). The "R" of 106mph.
I have passed with the WC going 85mph for a short distance. It was on I-80 where the speed limit is 75mph for ALL vehicles.
I was camping in Susanville about two weeks ago. On the way home from that trip, there was a lady driving a Toyota PU going 49mph on 395 just outside Doyle (limit is 65, 55 for towing) heading toward Reno. She would not get over and I got stuck behind her (couldn't pass) due to the Hot August Nights traffic leaving Reno (northbound). Finally, could see a clearing and accelerated from 49 to 75 with the WC in-tow to pass. There was a line of cars behind me (must have been over 30) for the 10 mile heck she put me through. After passing, I didn't see more than 1 car behind me from them until the road became a divided highway. Noone could get past her. She probably saw a few fingers from many hands.
