Do you have them now? Do you plan on installing them?

It is on my list of things for the coming year. I have decided on the one built by Banks because it is basically plug and use. No cutting welding, etc. It plugs in to existing connections and Banks Engineering stands behind its products with research. Only my opinion.

I have a Banks installed on my '02 Dodge 1 ton with manual tranny, and that thing has saved my bacon many times on steep downgrades. Well worth the investment, no matter what brand you get.

I don't have one. The Allison transmission on my Chevy does a great job of holding the truck back on steep grades. I wondered at first if it would work as good as an exhaust brake, and it does.

I have one that uses the Ford factory warm-up butterfly valve in the turbo (for cold morning warmups).

It was easy to install too. My tuner just added a program to my chip. Laughing I switch over to it when I want to engage it. Switch back when the grade is over with.

I have the Pacbrake PRXB and use it all the time. I love it! I really miss the brake when I drive my other truck that doesn't have one.

Do you use your exhaust brake while towing thru a town or just for down hill grades?

Happy camping

I use mine all the time, even when empty. The only time I don't use my exhaust brake is in stop and go traffic as it's not really needed and it taxes the brake and air system. So I do use it in towns and cities.
Exhaust brakes aren't loud so no need to worry in towns and such. Also they're not just for downhill grades. I use it to come to a stop, slow down and etc.

I only use it on downhill grades with the trailer. I have to change tunes so it's not automatic when I lift off the accelerator pedal. Another nice thing about having it as a tune on my chip is that it changes the transmission shift pressures so you don't burn of the clutches.

My 2010 Ram 2500 CTD came equipped with variable symetry vanes in the turbocharger. I had the dealer install a Jacobs Exhaust Brake on my 04.5, since the Jake was warranteed by dealer for the remainder of the warrantee on the drive train.

I love my EB and use it most of the time.

I have a Ford transmission and it does hold back well, but the addition of a little more engine braking is nice.

Came standard in my 2011 Silverado 2500HD. Love it, and use it all the time. Very seldome have to touch the breaks except to come to a stop. Hardley have to touch the breaks at all on down hill grades.

Well I broke down and did it. My Banks exhaust brake showed up today by UPS. It looks like a simple job. Hopefully I will get time this week to install it. I am looking forward to it because I am always towing something around. Besides my WC, I have to haul water to my house. I have an 1100 gallon tank mounted on my goose neck trailer. The cat is easy to pull. Try hauling water sometimes. Will let you know as soon as I get it in and use it.

Well I put in the Banks Exhaust Brake this week. Not to difficult of a job (once you remember left from right when you are under the truck). It took about 4 hours total to do it. It probably took me a lot longer because after the first hour of up/down and under the truck I really slowed down. Got a chance to use it yesterday with a load. I had my flatbed with 1100 gallons of water on it. There are some long grades on the way going as high as 11%. It was nice to actually decelerate going downhill without touching the brakes. It was smooth and a lot less noisy than the Allison transmission alone. So far I am quite happy with it.

My DP tuner has a position that closes the exhaust back pressure valve. This is what Ford puts on their trucks to warm up the engine faster. It works great as an exhaust brake.

I think that you will start seeing all of the manufacturers making it standard or part of an option package. For example look at break controllers.
