Air Conditioner Problem - Compressor Running All the Time
I an having a problem with the compressor on my AC unit. It runs anytime there is power to it. It started this after a 10 day trip to the beach, after it had been running non-stop for the entire time.
I didn't notice it until we returned home, and I connected the Cat to shore power at the house, and the AC compressor comes on, no fan, just the compressor. The unit was turned off at the thermostat ( I always shut it down upon departure )
I checked the thermostat to verify that it was turned off. The only way to stop the compressor from running was to turn off the breaker. The unit still cools fine when turned on at the thermostat, but the compressor won't cut off.

To me it sounds like a thermostat problem. I would look at the thermostat and see if the connection is breaking. If it is then a wire from the thermostat to the a/c has shorted out. Turn off the power ans inspect all your wire connections to see if any are touching.

Remove the filter and any plates and see if you have a wire touching there also.

Could be the main start relay is stuck or the points are burn't together keeping the compressor running.

It is in the unit inside the trailer you have to remove the plastic decoative cover and inside there is a metal box inside of it is the circuit board with the relay. Mine is a Dometec. From the way it looks on mine the whole circuit board would have to be replaced.
