Warranty Question

We have been thinking about replacing our Wildcat. Due to some recent changes in the Wildcat line, the replacement wil not be one.

Anyhow, after looking at many RV manufacturers web sites, I find that only a very few mention their warranty. I would think that a company that has any confidence in their product, would be upfront about it. So, curiosity is getting to me, does anyone know the current warranty policy from Forest River? I have no problems with our Wildcat, or Forest River...just find it odd they make no mention about their warranty on their site. (at least I couldn't find it)

Used to be 1 year warranty with 1 year extention for $100.00. Don't know whether that's still true or not.

Unlike auto warrantees, RV warrantees are a compendium of warrantees for each of the component parts. Problems with the axles - see Dexter. Problems with the A/C unit - go see Duotherm, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum.

The only seperate warrantee that I have for my truck is for the tires. All the rest, bumper to bumper, is covered for 5 years or 100K miles.

Our Wildcat as been great for us. At the time we bought it, we wanted a side bath arrangement, but we compromised. That is why we MAY replace it. The new Wildcats have the on demand water heaters. I understand both sides of the argument, but it's not for us. I have yet to fill any bottle on our Wildcat since we got it. I'll run the water heater for 5 minutes a year on propane to see if it works. Otherwise...it's on electric. I really wish the new Cats would give a choice, if they did, a 32RK would be mine!

I was just curious as to why Jayco made every effort to display their warranty, and no one else did. Makes me wonder....

Jayco is one of a handfull of manufacturers with a 2 year warranty. Jayco, Carriage, Open Range and Artic Fox (Northwood) are the ones off the top of my head.

Interesting that Jayco, Northwood and Carriage also build their own frames and do not use Lippert components of any kind. (That may change now that Lippert bought Dexter axle.)

Our next 5er will probably be one of those above. Artic Fox if I were to buy again right now.

Ours had a 1 year warranty. The drawers and few other things had a 60 day I think.

I have the two year warranty on my WC, the second year was either $100 or $150. Bet if you went to a dealer and said I'll buy that 32RK if you take out the tank less water heater an put in the other one, they would probably do it.

When we ordered our 2006 Wildcat 29RLBS back in 2005 we got a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty as part of the deal. In 2010 we purchased a NEW 2008 Keystone Challenger off a dealer's lot and as part of the deal we got 1 year bumper to bumper factory warranty with 4 more years bummper to bumper with a $50.00 deductable from the dealer. My point is shop around and see what the dealers will come up with to close the deal. Jim

The worse they can do is say no. Then you go to another dealer who can provide what you want. It's definitely worth a try.

I got 2 years free but some parts and pieces inside where only ? 6 months ?.
