Weekend of Mods
Spent the weekend working on the camper, pictures will follow later.
Finally figured out how to get an electrical wire from one side to the other, so now there is an outlet in the slideout to allow me to plug my laptop in without running it all the way across into the bathroom. There is a little wall that is hollow between the dinnette and sofa and I installed the outlet into that wall, then out the slide. There is already a mechanism underneath for keeping the existing 12 volt lines that run to the slide from getting bound up when it goes in and out, so I just attached the electrical wire to that one. Used outdoor underground rated wire to be on the safe side.
Mod 2 was replacing the power cord, switched over the the Marinco outlet and plug in.
and for Mod 3 installed the new shower rod that expands out into the bathroom. Looking forward to a little more shoulder room in the tub for the next trip.

Re: Weekend of Mods
Looking forward to seeing your photos.
I've wondered if there would be some way to take off the shower door and make a shower curtain rod that would extend the size of the shower a bit. Would have to figure out a way to keep the water INSIDE the shower.
I guess we'll just continue to make do with what we have.

Re: Weekend of Mods
What about the shower rods that bow out in the center.
I've seen / used these in hotels. They give you much more room in the shower. Haven't really looked for them myself in retail stores, and wifes never complained about the shower in the cat.
But I"m sure somebody has them at retail stores.

Re: Weekend of Mods
I doubt if there is a rod that bows out, that would fit the door in our shower. I don't think one would be hard to make. There would have to be something at the bottom to keep the bottom of the curtain inside the shower, and there would have to be a way to keep water from escaping along the sides. Too many "there would have to be's". Like I said above, we'll just make do. I don't bump my elbows on the door much anymore - getting used to the small size.

Re: Weekend of Mods
We use the RV Extend-a-Shower (I got it at PPL). I replaced the sliding folding doors after they started tearing. It gives us extra shoulder room when extended and we use it to hang towels, swimming trunks on when it is folded in. Works really well.

Re: Weekend of Mods
Do the sliding doors have a lock on them to keep them from moving when in transit? I would think you need something for that.

Bob - Mine does plus the door closes on a magnet that runs from top to bottom. Difficult sucker to open.

I also bought a Marinco adapter so the hook at the trailer is a 45 degree angle.

Re: Weekend of Mods
I think we are talking about two different kinds of showers. Our shower is the corner one that has glass on 3 sides. Glass door is only about 20 inches wide, and the base of the shower on the inside is only a couple inches high. I'd like to find a way to get a little more elbow room, but I don't think there is a way to do it.

When I was in high school, I was always playing in the band for dances and such. I never really cared much for dancing. I've heard people say "I have two left feet". Well, I'm more like I only have one left foot and no right one. And get a few in me I still can't dance, but I can stumble with immaculate grace.
