Little League World Series

Post by Maxtor on 8/19/2011, 12:15 pm

Geez,,, these kids can play. The DW and I have been watching, and they are amazing for 12 year olds and younger. The team from California has pitchers that the Dodgers need.

I just wish they would use the old wooden bat. Does not sound like baseball at all.

The local Visalia (CA) team won the 15th annual Cal Ripkin World Series last week. First time ever a host team had one the WS. These are 12-14 year olds. 16 teams completed from throughout the nation appeared here. There were 8,000 folks who attended the championship game between Visalia and Kentucky. They had to bring in more bleachers.

The team from warner robins , ga won it a couple years ago and have been in it til the last few teams just about every year. You wouldn't believe how excited the folks around here get about some little league baseball. And it seems to get a little bigger following each year for the whole series. its some serious Baseball.
