Dogwood Acres Campground in PA.

First a warning roads to get there a like a roller coaster up down sharp turns. In order to get in the grounds there about an 11-12 foot entrance with a tree on either side. If your over 32 foot be careful the tree on the one side is bent in towards the entrance you with have to get in the wrong lane and swing it wide( I did not swing it wide and rub up against the tree and tore my roof). It is a small campground maybe 100 sites. 30 foot + you are considered a big rig so careful driving around the grounds.

The good very nice people, brand new pool, great fishing lake, mostly shaded, and 1 thing I have never seen. There was an employee raking leaves up all day Saturday. Very clean grounds and nice playground for the little ones. The donate money every years to the Ronald Mc Donald house.

Sounds like a nice campground.... and nice management/employees. Thanks for the warning about the entrance.

The warning would be enough to steer me towards another CG.

Me too, and this CG is on our list to visit.

oldelmer1,

Buttonwood looks pretty good I think I will have to check that out. Have you been to Bar Habour in Abington? It is a small CG that sits on the bush river.

Don,
We have not been to Bar Habour, its kind of too close to us, just like Elk Neck State park, they are just down the road and I guess too close to go to......

Have you been to Bar Habour?

Yes It is only a 30 min. drive but, you back your rig right up to the water. You over look the bush river, good fishing, and its just relaxing by the water with the fire pit going. It's a small place not much else to do but, the kids love to fish. The other good thing is if you check in on Friday and check out on Sunday, you don't have to check out till 4:00.
