Who would make a great President in the next election?
On the Democratic side, it looks like Obama is the only candidate.
On the Republican side it is wide open... Rick Perry has just pushed ahead in the polls, what do you think?
Let's keep this thread positive... Just the good points.

I think you should get Judge Judy to stand for president.
She seems very fair to me when I have seen her on Tv.
And if your politicians are any thing like ours in the U.K. they are all as bad as each other, lots of broken promises. and it seems they live well on the wages whilst the average man in the street has to struggle to make ends meet.

Well at least shes got at least one vote, I can't vote because I am not an American citizen.
But as they say one vote is better than none.

Now it appears that Paul Ryan and Chris Christie are thinking about throwing in their hats too. This might get pretty interesting. Paul Ryan doesn't have a chance, IMHO.

I don't really care which party but an American would be nice next time.
I think the only true competition to Obama would be Christie at this point. I haven't heard for sure that he's in the running yet...

I am looking for that "Generic Republican" that always polls higher than the others.
Actually I really like Rick Perry, but if Chris Christie jumped in,,, I would have to go with him.

If Paul Harvey were still alive, I'd write him in.
I personally don't have any problem voting a woman in, if she's the best candidate.
Who's on the Libertarian ticket this time around? I never know for sure until ballot box day.

Wife and I lived in Texas since 1977 and not overly impressed with Rick Perry, but will have to see who all the candidates are before we make a final decision.

We need to start with Congress. They're bigger idiots than the President. Dem, Rep, Tea, Lib or whatever, we need to be Americans first and foremost! This political correctness has invaded our lives to the extent that we have become weak and powerless. We are the greatest nation on earth. Let's act like it. There! I'm done now except for this parting thought, "Let's put God and patriotism back in our lives"!

Before voting for anyone, you should all see a copy of a DVD I just got from a friend called Inside Job. It will scare you to death as to where we are and where we are headed. It is all about the financial status of the USA and the world, the key players, who they are, and where the are now. We don't seem to have much of a chance. Worth the watch.

When you think about Honor, Integrity, leadership, truth, and respect,, the first one that comes to mind is John Wayne,,, but he is dead,,, so let us go beyond John Wayne, to the very top, with someone that is alive today,, and that person would be Jesus. If our country would stop driving him out, we could again become a great nation.
I vote for Jesus.
Of course if God is available I would vote twice.

I'm a big believer that the world's financial woes are being orchestrated; by whom or what...don't know for sure. But I've got ideas.

gkeager: I agree with you.
If the Congress was taken off their retirement and health plans and put on SS and Medicare they would get SS and Medicare FIXED.
Right Now if Congress members serve 1 term they are set for life.

Sounds a lot more like Japan than it does the U S of A.
Looking back in history, I see a parallel between the U.S. and the Roman empire: at the time, the world's only super power. But greed, corruption, and excess ultimately brought it to its knees. It was only after they were so weakened internally, that external forces were able to invade and conquer.
America's on a dark path, led by people who no longer see the light. Wish it would change, but bet it won't. And if that's the ultimate truth, it won't matter who gets elected.

TC;
I agree with your comparison.
The Roman empire lasted approximately 500 years, our country is crumbling in less than half of that for all the same reasons.

Some say the gov't has been quietly building camps for people who say things like that.

I am really struggling with this.
I'm not a Rick Perry fan at all. I think his idea of governing is way out of line with freedom of choice. As far as Jesus, he mowed my neighbors lawn and did a great job, but I don't think he speaks much english and isn't a citizen.
Well, other than the speaking english part, maybe he is as qualified as the present.
On a serious note, every country that has lost it's moral values and turned against God has fallen from greatness. I trully fear for my grandson and following generations.

Jesus planted our new trees last spring. He speaks pretty good English, and I think he's a citizen. He also mows lawns. I don't think our Jesus commutes between Dallas and Longview, so yours must be an imposter.
