brake size
Does anyone with a 2011 32QBT know if our brakes are 10 inch or 12 inch? I know I have Lippert axles.

Re: brake size
Thanks Earl, also do you have to replace the whole assembly or just pads like on my truck?

Normally is easier to replace the brake assembly. But you can buy just the shoes and other parts. Normally if the shoes are shot the magnets will be shot or close to it. Buy the time u price shos and magnets u can buy the whole assembly. Also pays to shop around.

Excellent question, will be waiting on reply! Also, how do you know they are going bad? I'm planning on repacking my bearings this fall after the season and it may be a good time to change out the brakes!

Re: brake size
Brake work isn't hard. Using brake tools for the springs is nice. Replacing the whole assembly would be easier. Just a few bolts and the two wires. Each state is different on when the shoes need replaced.
Don't forget to adjust your brakes at least yearly. They are not self adjusting and once out of adjustment your brake performance will get worse and worse.

Re: brake size
Last time I did a trailer with the 12" brakes, it was around $80 a wheel for the assembly and the drum. That included new bearings in the kit if I remember correctly. Just need to remove the bearing lock nut, the 4 bolt backing plate and cut the brake wire for the magnet. It is about a 3 hour job for all four if you take your time.

when I did my mechanical hand brake swap it took about 1 hour per side and was very easy, just make sure you use new spring/lock washers or nylocs to refit the back plate. Look hear for more info. http://www.wildcatcamperforum.com/t3361-fitting-mechanical-hand-brake?highlight=mechanical+hand+brake
